Part Two of Excerpt from Solar Illuminations

In Chapter One, I ended by providing you with Yahshua’s  ‘Lecture on Sun Yoga’ which itself is one section of his Sermon on Essene Yoga. In Chapter One, I offered comments on the first portion of his ‘Lecture on Sun Yoga’ – and shared many related excerpts from esoteric scholars and other sources – and promised to comment on some of the remaining verses of that lecture in this second chapter of Essene Sun Yoga. As I did in Part One, I will again share many interesting and related excerpts from some of my favorite esoteric scholars, along with my own comments.

Because each time I comment on specific verses from Yahshua’s ‘Lecture on Sun Yoga’ I will share those verses, I will not here provide Yahshua’s entire several-page ‘Lecture’ again; I will simply remind you that the entire ‘Lecture on Sun Yoga’ appears at the end of Chapter One, and also appears in Chapter Sixty-One of The Holy Megillah, the chapter that is titled ‘Introduction to Essene Yoga’. Here I will provide only those verses that I am commenting on.

Although I just correctly reported that I ended Chapter Onewith a promise to continue commenting on Yahshua’s ‘Lecture on Sun Yoga’ in this second chapter, that does not mean that we will limit ourselves to that one ‘Lecture’. In the same manner that we looked at various sayings from the Megillah related to Sun Yoga in Chapter One, the same will be true this time. That is because Yahshua speaks about the Sun in other sections of the Megillah, and so do other Essenes including the Magdalene. But we will begin below with some verses from Yahshua’s ‘Lecture on Sun Yoga’, and that ‘Lecture’ will be our main focus in the opening section of this Part Two of Essene Sun Yoga. Enjoy! (in-joy!) ☺

Rather than comment on selected verses of Yahshua’s ‘Lecture on Sun Yoga’ in strict sequence of verse number, I will present them in the sequence by which I choose to address the topics presented. For example, I will present and comment on verse 553 before I present verse 550. And regardless of its verse number, whenever the right moment for me to treat the topic of sunbathing arrives, that is when I will present the verses related to that topic.

In verse 553 of Chapter Sixty-One in The Holy Megillah, Yahshua, having just revealed some very esoteric information about the sun that, he admits, is a topic studied by “Great” (‘very advanced’) Nasarean Wizards, he next tells his disciples:

553. “However, one need not be a Great Wizard to perceive that our Sun enables life – including our own life – to exist and flourish in this world and, therefore, deserves our sincere reverence and appreciation and heartfelt love expressed in acts such as the various practices of Essene Sun Yoga.”

Verse 553 makes clear that one need not yet have become a Great Wizard in order to realize the two following facts: 1) It is obvious that the Sun enables life – including our own life – to exist and flourish in this world; 2) Therefore, the sun deserves our sincere reverence and appreciation and heartfelt love expressed in acts such as the various practices of Essene Sun Yoga.

While only Nasarean Essenes would express reverence and appreciation for the Sun specifically by performing the various practices of Essene Sun Yoga, the human species has universally understood – and expressed appreciation for – the life-enabling gifts of the Sun. Although we touched on that fact in Chapter One, we will begin this second chapter with additional excerpts that further illuminate that fact. The following excerpt is from Manly Hall’s masterwork, The Secret Teachings of All Ages. Hall writes:

The adoration of the sun was one of the earliest and most natural forms of religious expression…. The primitive mind, recognizing the beneficent power of the solar orb, adored it as the proxy of the Supreme Deity.

Concerning the origins of sun worship, Albert Pike makes the following concise statement in his Morals and Dogma: “To them (aboriginal peoples,) he (the sun) was the innate fire of bodies, the fire of Nature.  Author of life, heat, and ignition, he was to them the efficient cause of all generation, for without him there was no movement, no existence, no form. It was their need of light, and of his creative energy, that was felt by all men….  His beneficent influences caused his identification with the Principle of Good, and the BRAHMA of the Hindus, and MITHRAS of the Persians, …  AMUN… of the Egyptians, the BEL of the Chaldeans, the ADONAI of the Phoenicians, the ADONIS and APOLLO of the Greeks, became but personifications of the Sun, the regenerating principle, image of the fecundity which perpetuates and rejuvenates the world’s existence.” [end of Hall’s quote from Pike; Hall continues below]

Among all the nations of antiquity, altars, mounds, and temples were dedicated to the worship of the orb of day… Many early priests and prophets, both pagan and Christian, were versed in astronomy and astrology, their writings are best understood when read in the light of these ancient sciences.  With the growth of man’s knowledge of the constitution and periodicity of the heavenly bodies, astronomical principles and terminology were introduced into his religious systems….

As was also made clear in Chapter One, the ancients – many of them – evolved to realize that the Sun was an important representative of the Universal Creator – even giving the Sun the status of ‘Most Godlike Living Entity of our Solar System’ – but most also believed in ‘Higher Stars’ in ‘Higher Heavens’ and in a Supreme – often Triune – Creator Deity senior to all Star Deities. Hall describes that evolution of religious thought as follows:

The sun, as supreme among the celestial bodies visible to the astronomers of antiquity, was assigned to the highest of the gods [Day: of this solar system] and became symbolic of the supreme authority of the Creator…. .  From a deep philosophic consideration of the powers and principles of the sun has come the concept of the Trinity as it is understood in the world today.  The tenet of a Triune Divinity is not peculiar to Christian or Mosaic theology, but forms a conspicuous part of the dogma of the greatest religions of both ancient and modern times.  The Persians, Hindus, Babylonians, and Egyptians had their Trinities.  In every instance these represented the threefold form of one Supreme Intelligence.

In modern Masonry, the Deity is symbolized by an equilateral triangle, its three sides representing the primary manifestations of the Eternal One who is…  represented as a tiny flame called by the Hebrews Yod.

In regard to the last sentence above, the Hebrew letter called Yod looks like a spark of fire. Hall continues:

Jakob Bohme, the Teutonic mystic, calls the Trinity The Three Witnesses, by means of which the Invisible is made known to the visible, tangible universe.  The origin of the Trinity is obvious to anyone who will observe the daily manifestation of the sun….

A careful analysis of the religious systems of pagandom uncovers much evidence of the fact that its priests served the solar energy and that their Supreme Deity was in every case this Divine Light personified. Godfrey Higgins, after thirty years of inquiry into the origin of religious beliefs, is of the opinion that “All the Gods of antiquity resolved themselves into the solar fire, sometimes itself as God, or sometimes as an emblem or shekinah of that higher principle, known by the name of the creative Being of God….

The golden ornaments used by the priestcraft of the various world religions are again a subtle reference to the solar energy, as are also the crowns of kings.  In ancient times, crowns had a number of points extending outward like the rays of the sun…. Many of the ancient prophets, philosophers, and dignitaries carried a scepter; the upper end of which bore a representation of the solar globe surrounded by emanating rays…

The solar orb, like the nature of man, was divided by the ancient sages into three separate bodies.  According to the mystics, there are three suns in each solar system, analogous to the three centers of life in each individual constitution.  These are called three lights: the spiritual sun, the intellectual or soular sun, and the material sun, (now symbolized in Freemasonry by three candles….)  Man’s nature was divided by the mystics into three distinct parts: spirit, soul, and body [Day: or ‘Spirit/Soul, Mind/Emotions, and Physical Body’]. His physical body was unfolded and vitalized by the sun, and his intellectual nature was redeemed by the true light of grace – the soular sun….

Recognizing the sun as the supreme benefactor of the material world, Hermetists believed that there was a spiritual sun which ministered to the needs of the invisible and divine part of Nature – human and universal.  About this subject, the great Paracelsus wrote: “There is an earthly sun, and all who are able to see may see the sun, which is the cause of all heat, and those who are blind and cannot see him may feel his heat.  There is an Eternal Sun, which is the source of all wisdom, and those whose spiritual senses have awakened to life will see that sun and be conscious of [its] existence; but those who have not attained spiritual consciousness may yet feel His power by an inner faculty which is called Intuition….” 

In Chapter One, I shared several ancient Hindu writings that demonstrated that they not only believed in the life-giving physical sun, but that there were also progressively more subtle aspects of the Sun, including a spiritual dimension of profound Love and Wisdom at the Heart of the Sun. I also shared excerpts – including from the Megillah – that described the belief in a spiritual realm within the Sun that is populated by Heavenly Beings. In this Part Two of Sun Yoga, I will now share some additional, related excerpts, as they fit well with what we just received in the excerpt from Hall. After sharing these related excerpts, I will return right to where we left off in the Hall excerpt.

In her book The Rays and The Initiations, Alice A. Bailey writes:

The objective of the evolutionary process to which all lives on our planet have to submit has been to develop this sensitivity which will make revelation possible, and it might be said that… the goal of all experience has been revelation – each revelation carrying the initiate closer to the Heart of the Sun wherein all things are known and felt, and through which all forms, all beings and all things can be bathed in love.

Ponder on these words, for the microcosmic correspondence to the macrocosmic fact is full of teaching value.  See to it that each lesson learned each day, each revelation grasped and understood, makes your heart full of love and enables you to love your fellowmen with ardent, fiery, warmth…. When the revelation is accorded to the initiate, he for the first time receives his initial contact with what is called in the… esoteric books “the Central Spiritual Sun.”  He realizes for himself that those words concern a basic fact and are related to the purpose of the solar systems…. When it is realized that our planetary purpose is mysteriously related to the revelation of love upon our little planet, the Earth, through the process of creation, the concept emerges that there is the probability that our planet has a unique relation to the Heart of the Sun.

Another reference to the ‘Heart of the Sun’ is found in the following excerpt from The Cosmos in Man, by Torkim Saraydarian:

In the next step, we enter into the world of pure Love….  Life is communication, an act of loving response and harmonization, a tuning in with higher and higher levels of awareness and beingness…. Only through such steps can you meet yourself and respond to real Love energy….  The one way to learn the meaning of Love is to Love.  Once you have loved, then and only then, can you know Love. It takes you away. It sublimates you, releases you, and instead of becoming a self-centered man or woman, you become Universe-centered, Cosmic-centered; thus is Love energy released….

Love is all-embracing energy.  All atoms, all cells are imbued with it. Actually, it is this love energy which is making greater and greater mechanisms through which to express itself in greater beauty. The mineral, vegetable and animal kingdoms are vehicles of expression for Love energy.  We may even say that one of the original long-range goals of this Love energy was to create man, who eventually will express Love consciously, and then be a co-worker with the Creative Energy….

What is the origin of this Energy?  In one [Day: un-named esoteric book], there is a very interesting and picturesque expression of the Energy Source.  It states that there are three suns which give light to the whole Universe.  Behind the visible sun, is the Heart of the Sun, which is the source of the Love – the outpouring Love of the Creator….  It is all-embracing compassion, and in esoteric literature is called the Great Magnet… which continually attracts all sparks back….  Through this attraction process which we call Love, each Spark, no matter how far away – in the mineral kingdom, vegetable kingdom, in flowers, animals, birds, or in human beings – is attracted to that Central Core, the Cosmic Magnet, which is inhaling it slowly, drawing it back to its home. This is evolution.

The following excerpt links well with the several above. It is from a book by David Fideler titled, Jesus Christ Sun of God. In a section of that book under the heading ‘The Spiritual Sun’, Fideler writes:

Since the Logos represents the heart of the cosmic pattern and the source of existence, its emblem is the sun, the source of life and light.  Where this symbolism originated in a historical sense is difficult to ascertain for, as an ancient cosmologist might state, it is eternally revealed by the nature of the universe itself….

Plato used the image of the Sun to represent the idea of the One, the Good, and the Beautiful, seen as the source of existence and Being. One thing we know for certain is that, in the Pythagorean and Platonic schools of Hellenistic Alexandria, the sun came to be regarded as the doorway linking together the sensible and intelligible spheres, the material and spiritual orders of existence.  Helios [Day: the Sun] was seen as the heart of the celestial pattern, and his physical aspect was considered as the lower manifestation of a higher principle which we may characterize as the Idea of the Solar Logos.  This particular doctrine came to permeate the whole of Hellenistic cosmology in one form or another, influencing scientific, metaphysical, and theological thought.

Like God, the sun eternally gives forth from itself… thus establishing itself as the most perfect symbol of the ineffable First Cause. Yet, as we have noted, among the learned, the sun itself was never taken to [be] the First Cause, and was merely seen as its image and manifestation… within the continuum of space and time.  In a poetic sense, however, no one could quarrel with the assertion that the sun is, in a material fashion the god of the physical universe.  Along these lines, the Hermetic writings suggest that one should regard the sun “as the second God, ruling all things, and giving light to all things living in the Cosmos….”

Likewise, in a scientific sense, few would question the Orphic Hymn to Helios, which identifies the sun as the ‘light of life’, an epithet which directly parallels the opening lines of the Fourth Gospel [Day: the Gospel of John].  

If the sun can be seen as the material reflection of the First Cause, by analogy the First Cause can be represented as the Spiritual Intelligible Sun.  This is a symbolism commonplace in the Hellenistic period in pagan, Jewish, and early Christian thought….

In the illustrations of the Hermetic philosopher Robert Fludd, the Sun appears as the mediating principle between the… poles of spirit and matter…. Fludd always identified the solar disc with the human heart, the center of the soul.

In regard to that last sentence above, recall that we made clear in Chapter One that the Sun has seven main chakras that correlate with the seven main chakras of the human being. Thus, the Sun has a Heart Chakra, and just as the Heart Chakra is at the center of the human being, one might expect the ‘heart’ of the Sun to be ‘at the core of things’. We also know that the Crown Chakra is within ‘the spiritual realm at the center of the Sun’, but since that realm is large enough to be the heavenly home of many angelic beings, it is reasonable that more than one solar chakra is in that realm. Maybe they all are within that spiritual realm at the center of the Sun, with the Heart Chakra being the core of that center, and the Crown Chakra being somehow ‘at the top of the core’.

I promised that after sharing the above related excerpts, we would return to the excerpt from Manly Hall’s The Secret Teachings of All Ages. Picking up where we left off, Hall writes:

In the rare treatise, The Secret Symbols of The Rosicrucians, Franz Hartmann defines the sun alchemically as: “The symbol of Wisdom, The Center of Power or Heart of things.  The Sun is a center of energy and a storehouse of power.  Each living being contains within itself a center of life, which may grow to be a Sun.  In the heart of the regenerated, the divine power, stimulated by the Light of the Logos, grows into a Sun which illuminates his mind.”  In a note, the same author amplifies his description by adding: “The terrestrial sun is the image or reflection of the invisible celestial sun, the former is in the realm of Spirit while the latter is in the realm of Matter, but the latter receives its power from the former….”

What the sun is to the solar system, the spirit is to the bodies of man, for his natures, organs and functions are as planets surrounding the central life (or sun) and living upon its emanations.  The solar power in man is divided into three parts, which are termed the threefold human spirit of man.  All three of these spiritual natures are said to be radiant and transcendent; united, they form the Divinity in man….  

The Rosicrucians… describing the angels, archangels, and other celestial creatures, declared that they resembled small suns, being centers of radiant energy surrounded by streamers of… force.  From these outpouring streamers of force is derived the popular belief that angles have wings.  These wings are corona-like fans of light, by means of which the celestial creatures propel themselves through the subtle essences of the superphysical worlds….

The ancients asserted that life originated from the sun, and that everything when bathed in the light of the solar orb was capable of absorbing the solar life elements and later radiating them as flora and fauna.

One philosophical concept regarded the sun as a parent and the planets as embryos still connected to the solar body by means of ethereal umbilical cords which served as channels to convey life and nourishment to the planets.

Some secret orders have taught that the sun was inhabited by a race of creatures with bodies composed of a radiant spiritual ether not unlike in its constituency the actual glowing ball of the sun itself.  The solar heat had no harmful effect upon them, because their organisms were sufficiently refined and sensitized to harmonize with the sun’s tremendous vibratory rate.  The creatures resemble miniature suns….  Their color is the golden white light of the sun…. 

Readers of The Holy Megillah will recognize a high degree of similarity with it and the above description of heavenly beings residing in a realm at the spiritual center of the Sun. I shared those verses in Chapter One.

In the following continuation of the excerpt from Hall, he speaks of gold as the metal of the Sun. In fact, we can accurately say that all metals have their ultimate source in the Sun, but that gold is also a great symbol of the sun, by reason of color but also by reason of its sense of majesty. In regard to gold, I recently read a newspaper article that stated that every bit of natural gold on our planet was either created within the sun or other stars and made its way here through space. Hall wrote the following words long before science had discovered that fact:

Gold is the metal of the sun and has been considered by many as crystallized sunlight.  When gold is mentioned in alchemical tracts, it may be either the metal itself or the celestial orb which is the source or spirit, of gold…. As gold was the symbol of spirit and the base metals represented man’s lower nature, certain alchemists were called “miners” and were pictured with picks and shovels digging into the earth in search of the precious metal—those, finer traits of character buried in the earthiness of materiality and ignorance… Thus, the seeker after truth became a pearl-fisher; he descended into the sea of material illusion in search of understanding, termed by the initiates “the Pearl of Great Price.”

When the alchemists stated that every animate and inanimate thing in the universe contained the seeds of gold, they meant that even the grains of sand possessed a spiritual nature, for gold was the spirit of all things.  Concerning these seeds of spiritual gold, the following Rosicrucian axiom is significant: “A soul cannot develop and progress without an appropriate body, because it is the physical body that furnishes the material for its development.”

The purpose of alchemy was not to make something out of nothing but rather to fertilize and nurture the seed which was already present.  Its processes did not actually create gold but rather made the ever-present seed of gold grow and flourish.  Everything which exists has a spirit – the seed of Divinity within itself – and regeneration is not the process of attempting to place something where it previously had not existed. Regeneration actually means the unfoldment of the omnipresent Divinity in man, that the Divinity may shine forth as a sun and illumine all with whom it comes in contact.

Apuleius said when describing his initiation (vide ante): “At midnight I saw the sun shining with a splendid light.” The midnight sun was also part of the mystery of alchemy.  It symbolized the spirit in man shining through the darkness of his human organism.  It also referred to the spiritual sun in the solar system, which the mystic could see as well at midnight as at high noon, the material earth being powerless to obstruct the rays of the Divine orb. The mysterious lights which illuminated the temples of the Egyptian Mysteries during the nocturnal hours were said by some to be reflections of the spiritual sun gathered by the magical power of the priest… Among the Egyptians the sun’s rays are often shown ending in human hands….

Because it links so purrrfectly with the last sentence above – the reference to the sun’s rays being shown ending in human hands – I am going to share a great solar excerpt that also makes that reference. This excerpt is from a book titled, Man and the Sun, written in 1962 by Jacquetta Hawkes. On the front cover of my original hardback edition is a breathtakingly beautiful, golden emblazoned Sun image with a smile similar to this: ☺Hawkes was a brilliant scientist from a family of scientists. Yet she was also very spiritual, and, intellectually, quite radical. She argued – quite skillfully – that evolution and spirituality need not be mutually exclusive. And she absolutely adored the Sun, a love affair that began in childhood noticing the colors of the rainbow, and which continued into her later years when she wrote this book all about her beloved Sun. The promised link to the last line of the Hall excerpt – the line about the rays of the sun ending in hands – will be deep into the following paragraphs from Jacquetta Hawkes; when we get there, I will call your attention to it. Although that link is why I chose to put Jacquetta’s excerpt immediately after Hall’s, the entire excerpt is illuminating. We read:

It is not my intention here [in this book] to tell the evolutionary history of life on earth. I have already attempted it [in a previous book] and attempted it moreover from the same point of view which is of significance here [in this Sun book] – that is to say from the point of view of the evolution of consciousness. I will only say that I have not repented my heretical views that natural selection has not been the primary and fundamental shaper of living forms.

Life, it is now estimated, is quite likely to exist on one hundred thousand million planetary systems in our galaxy alone.  To me it seems evident that all we life-clad spheres are part of some far larger system developing with all the inevitability of a peacock from an egg.  If this is some form of vitalism, then I am a vitalist. And I see the function of our part of the system as being the development of consciousness.  If that is teleological, then I am certainly a teleologist.

Both vitalist and teleologist are dirty names in natural science, where the idea of intention in nature is abhorrent.  Yet it is in fact very difficult to distinguish between intention and more or less predetermined process.  There can be a theoretically infinite regress of patterned evolutionary sequences.  The development of the individual creature from the single-celled ovum; the evolution of the species during the span of life on earth, and the evolution of some cosmic ‘creature’ in which our galaxy with its countless planetary points of consciousness is playing its small part.  Larger and larger in scale, each may be patterned by a previous evolution.

Just as it is hard to deny that the ‘purpose’ of the fertilized ovum is to become a peacock or an ant or whatever it may be, so in my view it is impossible to be sure that it was not the ‘purpose’ of the original molecules and solar radiation to lead to life and consciousness on earth.  And so on at every scale….

No, I do not intend to repeat the story of the evolution of earthly life in all its marvelous variety of species, but only to call attention to one aspect of it: the continuing relationship between the sun and these its progeny.   The supply of energy from chemical reactions so essential in the first begetting only become more varied as organisms attained higher forms….

Because it truly is illuminating – and also fascinating – I am going to provide her description of the significance of these ‘chemical reactions’ linked to the Sun that energize – and enable – life on our planet. What I find particularly interesting is how these ‘chemical reactions’ are actually a form of alchemy involving vibration frequencies that we see as colors. I will remind my readers that the way the word ‘color’ is spelled in England is: ‘colour’; Hawkes is English.

The sunlight falls on us in a stream that in our eyes resembles the colour of our ordinary fires. It may look white on the ground, but like all small children who love to show the sun’s beaming face in their pictures, we think of it as yellow and symbolize it as golden. Yet for a long time we have known that sunlight can be divided up into ‘all the colours of the rainbow’, and indeed many more than we can detect in the rainbow.

As a child I used to visit a neighbor’s house where glass prisms, probably saved from some old chandelier, were left lying on the window bars. On fine days they threw a dozen or more little coloured patches, running form blue through green and yellow to red, on walls and ceiling, on furniture and sometimes on to one’s own clothes and skin. As we played or worked at our sewing class, all these delicious patches wheeled steadily round the room….

Already before this I had been told that a rainbow was caused by the splitting of sunlight by water drops; belonging to a scientific family that information came my way as soon as I was capable of recognizing these lovely arcs. But they were so enchanting, so obviously magical, that I never really accepted this explanation in my heart. But with the coloured patches in my friend’s nursery, I did. Nothing I have seen since, not even the elaborate spectro-helioscope displayed at… the Royal Society [of Science], has made me so absolutely aware of the spectrum of sunlight and the wheeling of the sun in the sky. 

It still seems to me extraordinary that everyday light is built up from this dazzling range of colours; still more extraordinary that these colours are due to the burning of the chemical elements composing the sun. Each element burns with its own particular wavelengths and therefore with its own particular colours.

Salt or any compound of sodium, for example, burns with two wavelengths that make bright yellow show. So all the colours of the rainbow, and indirectly, all the colours of art and nature, are the product of the sun’s chemistry, which, in turn
as we have seen, is the product of cosmic history – the explosion of the supernova and the condensing of the star.

Men have in fact learned what the sun is made of by an ingenious way of reading one form of the solar spectrum. Most of the elements present in the mass of the sun are also present at a rather lower temperature in the sun’s atmosphere, and as the light from the photosphere passes through the outer envelopes, they absorb the light of their own exact wavelengths. When the sunbeam is examined through a spectroscope these absorbed wavelengths show as black lines, and it is possible to read off the elements concerned as precisely as if they were written out in chemical formulae.

Most of the radiations streaming out from the photosphere are of wavelengths between eight and four hundred thousandths of a centimeter, which covers the range of visible light. When we say ‘visible light’ we are speaking wholly subjectively as human beings. We mean the wavelengths to which our human eyes are sensitive….

Thus there is no coincidence here, but a pleasing show of the unity of our world and the exactness of our dependence upon the presiding sun. The wavelengths of visible light preponderate in the sunshine that reaches us as earth-dwellers, but both shorter and longer waves are included in the sun’s radiations. X-rays and ultraviolet, coming mainly from the solar atmosphere, are shorter and like all very short waves are deadly to living tissue. They are prevented from reaching earth’s surface in large enough amounts to make life impossible by protective shields which they themselves have created.

There are two of these shields – hollow spheres of gas enclosing the planet as the outer spheres enclose the innermost ball…. The outer one, which encloses us about sixty miles above our heads, is the ionosphere where the atoms of our outer atmosphere have had the electrons struck from the nuclei by the bombardment of X-rays. This layer, made by the X-rays, at the same time serves as a mirror reflecting them back into space and saving life on earth from the lethal radiations which killed so many of the men who first dared to make them artificially.

The inner protective sphere is only about 14 miles overhead and consists of ozone, an altered form of oxygen, which is continually destroyed and re-formed and in the process absorbs the ultraviolet radiation to which it is reacting. Some ultraviolet does in fact penetrate to the earth’s surface – indeed, as is well known, as it falls upon our human skins it helps to make vitamin D in our bodies….

The longest of the ultra-violet waves merge into the shortest of those of visible light, the violet, followed by indigo and blue which form the bottom of the sun’s colour spectrum as we see it revealed in rainbows, by fountains, diamonds, prisms and all the other agencies which can divide the full chord of our sunlight into its separate notes. 

When we pass eight hundred thousandths of a centimeter in wavelengths, the reds which lie at the opposite extreme from the violets in the spectrum, we pass beyond visible light into the infra-red wavelengths, which forms a part of the radiations which we recognize as “heat”.

There is a considerable amount of infra-red radiation from the sun, but a great part of it is absorbed by the water vapor in our atmosphere and so fails to reach the ground. Some, however, does filter through, enough, for example, for it to be possible to sensitize photographic plates to exposures on these wavelengths. Everyone knows that the eye of the infra-red camera is very much more penetrating than our own – that where we see only the haze of distance it can reveal every detail…. 

Here comes that promised (by me) link to the last sentence of Hall’s excerpt about the Egyptians’ artwork that portrayed sun rays ending in little hands:

Indeed the conception we shall discover among the Egyptians of the sun’s rays ending in hundreds of little hands showering life upon earth, has much truth in it. We must see our star as a body with no hard and fast outline, a body whose enormously dense core merges into outer parts of boiling gases which in turn give way to an atmosphere more rarefied but still full of atoms and atomic fragments moving at vast speeds and charged with stupendous energy. This atmosphere is made tempestuous by the stress of magnetic fields, the rising and falling of hotter and cooler gases, the explosion of tongues of fire tens of thousands of miles into space.

Beyond this again the sun sends its endless quanta of radiation rippling throughout the planetary system and yet further…. At two thousand million miles from the sun its light is still strong enough to allow the reading of fine print – were there readers on Uranus, which orbits at about this distance.

More than twice as far away, Pluto is bathed in a faint solar light, while outside our system altogether, beings on other planetary systems may even now be studying our sun as a component in some to them familiar constellation; others further and further away may be seeing it as a smaller and smaller point of light until, for the most distant, it merges into the powdery shine of the Milky Way.

To complete the picture of universal interdependence we have to recall that as well as all these emanations from the sun there is also the inward pull of its gravitational force. This invisible bond which holds all the planets in their courses is of such tremendous power that even for the earth alone it is equal to the strength of a bar of tempered steel five thousand miles in diameter.

Earth, then, as a minute spherical grain in this beautifully interacting play of force and energy and matter in space, catches its own infinitesimal share of the solar radiation, and during the course of twenty-four hours almost every part of the globe’s surface, and all things living on that surface, are in turn exposed to the radiation as they are lifted up from the cone of night, turned full into the sunshine and then lowered once more into darkness.

This gift of energy received during the daylight hours has been used to create, develop, maintain, life and consciousness. Today, as for hundreds of millions of years, the task of trapping the sun’s energy and diverting it into the veins of life has been performed by leaves…. Unlike the animal kingdom, plants can feed on pure carbon and this they catch from the atmosphere, from the carbon dioxide always present in small quantities in the invisible gases in which we are immersed. The leaf wantoning in the air is eating away as steadily as a sheep in a field. The pigment which gives it its green colour is contained in neat little star-like containers in the leaf’s central layers. This chlorophyll absorbs the radiant energy (which only eight minutes before was leaving the face of the sun) and with it breaks down the carbon dioxide gas, and the water sucked from the ground, combines them as sugar (carbon with hydrogen and oxygen) and releases the surplus oxygen into the air.

How wonderful it is that between the harsh mineral mass of the earth and the furious nuclear furnace of the sun this tender foliage should be able to mediate, to bend the radiation to the milder processes of chemical reaction, chemical reaction to the familiar creativeness of plant and animal life.

Without this vast and beautiful gasworks, the existence of man and his fellow animals would be impossible. And it is not only for the oxygen to vitalize our blood that we depend upon the plants; far more obviously the greater part of terrestrial animal life depends directly or indirectly upon them for bodily nourishment….

Next Hawkes, as did Hall, makes clear the appreciation for the Sun that was so nearly universal amongst our ancient forefathers and foremothers:

I have said that a kind of awe… [was] felt even by the earliest men for this unreachable, eye-dazzling presence in their skies….

The earliest solar symbol known to me is about six thousand years old, from the… Jordan valley…. So from the early days of farming the sun must have begun to assume what was always to be one of its leading attributes – divine power…. 

I asked John Sinclair [an English expert on what the ancients believed about the deity-aspect of the Sun] whether the Sky Father [Sun] was a true Sun God or rather an [intermediary demi-god]. He replied that as far as he had been able to learn [having devoted his life to this study]… the Sun, in spite of his… brilliance [brilliant light] in our eyes, serves as a shield to protect frail humanity from the intense light of the Great Spirit, the shaper of the universe….
This concept of the Sun as [an intermediary]… seems to me… inspired…. We know now that our star… was the immediate creator of all life on earth; but intuition and reason alike both make us inclined to believe that this was but a parochial creation, and that behind it lies some great source of life and mind, much as my own consciousness lies behind the hand that spells these words. 

Our last excerpt from Hawkes links purrrfectly to the Nasarean version of the creation of our planet. So purrrfectly, that I will follow it with a bit of the account from the Megillah that it links so well with; that Megillah excerpt, dealing as it does with the role of the Sun in the creation of our planet certainly should be included somewhere in this article. I deem this the purrrfect place! First, the last excerpt from Hawkes:

When in our [human science] quest for origins we believed it certain that the earth began as a glowing, molten mass, it was assumed that an immensely long period of cooling had to be allowed for before the first stirrings of life could have been even possible. Now, however, that we think the globe was compounded from lumps of cold matter and developed its internal heat largely from radioactive substances, no such waiting period is necessary.

Indeed at least one most distinguished thinker believes that the first steps towards the generation of life may have been taken on the particles of matter circling in space before they came together to form our planet. One reason for this idea is that the ultraviolet radiation, which all agree is most likely to have provided the generating energy, would have been far more abundant in the solar belt before the earth was built….

One thing seems certain; the central figure of this book was the begetter. In that sense the sun, Sol Invictus, is Our Father in Heaven [Day: in the previously described intermediary way].

In Chapter One, I introduced you to the Nasarean ‘Solar Regents’ – Abraham the High Priest of our Sun and his wife, Sa’arah, the High Priestess of the Sun – and explained that they were appointed by the Lord Christ and Lady Christ to seed and guide this new solar system. Below, I will provide some verses from the Nasarean account of the creation of this solar system that links well with what Hawkes wrote above in regard to the particles of soil in space that became clumps and evolved into the planets. In Chapter Seven of the Nasarean Book of Genesis section of the Megillah, we read:

44. Yea, Abraham and Sa’arah, disciples of the Lord Christ and Lady Christ, were made Overseers of the new Star we call our Sun, and they were given good seed to plant.
45. When Abraham and Sa’arah came to this realm to assist the Great Work of Elohim, the realm was bohu, a void.
46. And they chanted the Great Invocation of Elohim, which is, “Let there be Light”, and they planted the Star Seed, which was the Seed of our Sun.

47. As they watched the seed grow, they said: “It now emanates Spiritual Light into this darkness.
48. It is good seed!”
49. And the birth of The Spiritual Light was during The First Great Day of the Creation of our World.

50. Then Abraham said to Sa’arah: “Now let The Spiritual Light form a Body of Light, which will be our Temple.”
51. Sa’arah said, “Yes, I will plant The Seed of Air; it shall be The Breath of Life for The Body of Light.”
52. And she planted The Seed of Air, and The Spiritual Light emanated a Body of Fire.
53. Abraham and Sa’arah said, “It is good seed!”
54. And that was The Second Great Day of the Creation of our World.

55. Then, Abraham and Sa’arah cast into The Body of Fire, The Seed of Water, so that vapor would come forth from the fire to become clouds; for, they knew they would make worlds that would need water.
56. And vapors came forth and formed primal clouds.
57. They said, “It is good seed!”
58. And that was The Third Great Day of the Creation of our World.

59. And as the sun burned, it whirled through air and the winds swirled.
60. And into the wind Abraham and Sa’arah cast The Seed of Soil.
61. And the wind began to form the small particles of soil into larger particles.
62. Abraham and Sa’arah said, “This is good seed!”
63. And that was The Fourth Great Day of the Creation of our World.

64. By the end of The Fourth Great Day, some of the particles had combined to form large spheres.
65. Abraham and Sa’arah chose the largest spheres to be the planets for this realm.
66. And they chose one sphere to be the planet that would host The First Heaven of this realm.
67. Behold: That sphere was our world.
68. Lo: Abraham and Sa’arah cast The Seed of Heavenly Formation round our world….

70. Yea, and the Spiral Stairway winds its way upward from The First Heaven through each heaven unto The Seventh Heaven, which is The Temple of Light hidden within the Sun.

In the following verses from the same section of the Megillah, it is made clear that each ‘Great Day’ is a long cycle of creative evolution, not a 24-hour earth day:

71. And Behold: the seeds of heavenly formation sprouted and began to form the heavens.
72. And the heavens were beautiful, but no one can see a heaven except for those who live in that heaven or a higher heaven.
73. Abraham and Sa’arah said, “It is good seed!”
74. And the formation of the heavens continued for great duration; for, lo: each Great Day is of great duration, being a cycle of creation, unlike the short days of our world.
75. And that was The Fifth Great Day of the Creation of our World.

Although it is beyond the scope of this article to explore deeply the topic of Nasarean Astrology, the very next verse in the above account of the Seven ‘Days’ (‘creative epochs’) of Creation of our Solar System demonstrates that the Nasareans did have a form of sun-centered astrology that included twelve especially significant constellations that – and here is the fascinating part – were the places of origin for the souls that first took incarnation on our planet:

76. Then Abraham and Sa’arah opened the Soul Pathways of the Twelve Constellations so that the souls of many living entities could pass into this realm to have birth on our world.
77. Behold: each species of plant and animal, even humankind, is within a Group Ovum.
78. And each soul becomes a member of the Group Ovum that most matches its own thoughts, words, and deeds.
79. And each soul is also within its own Individual Ovum.

Recall that I previously stated I would share several excerpts from scholars on the topic of the high regard of the ancients for the Sun in support of Yahshua’s words found in verse 553 of his ‘Lecture on Sun Yoga’. That verse reads:

553. “However, one need not be a Great Wizard to perceive that our Sun enables life – including our own life – to exist and flourish in this world and, therefore, deserves our sincere reverence and appreciation and heartfelt love expressed in acts such as the various practices of Essene Sun Yoga.”

I previously wrote in regard to that verse:

Verse 553 makes clear that one need not yet have become a Great Wizard in order to realize the two following facts: 1) It is obvious that the Sun enables life – including our own life – to exist and flourish in this world; 2) Therefore, the sun deserves our sincere reverence and appreciation and heartfelt love expressed in acts such as the various practices of Essene Sun Yoga.

I then wrote:

While only Nasarean Essenes would express reverence and appreciation for the Sun specifically by performing the various practices of Essene Sun Yoga, the human species has universally understood – and expressed appreciation for – the life-enabling gifts of the Sun. Although we touched on that fact in Chapter One, we will begin this Chapter Two with additional excerpts that further illuminate that fact.

I then shared some excerpts, including a couple that took us on fascinating tangents yet always remained sun-centered. Now I will share another excerpt that supports the assertion in the paragraph above that the human species has universally understood – and expressed appreciation for – the life-enabling gifts of the Sun. 

One of my favorite books on the topic of the manifold life-enabling gifts of the Sun is titled, Sun Reflections: Images For The New Solar Age. Written in 1981 but still full of cutting-edge information and solar-inspired spiritual insights, the author, John N. Cole, writes that the idea of writing a book about the Sun and the coming solar age originated with his dear friend, Bob Rodale, the modern era ‘Father of Organic Gardening’. This is another of the ‘gems’ that I dug up intuitively in a used bookstore. Even though it was written in 1981, it is a relatively new book to me; I ‘unearthed’ this gem while ‘mining’ a used bookstore last year a few days before I was to preach a sermon on Sun Yoga! For your edification and for my pleasure, I am going to share several long excerpts from the book. I truly am joyful – filled with JOY – to introduce you to another long out-of-print book that you likely would never otherwise have met. Here goes! ☺

In the just described book, John N. Cole writes:

In the 400 years since Copernicus accurately declared the sun, and not our earth, to be the center of our particular solar system, we have tried to displace that fact of physics…. During the past century, the distance between us and the Sun has become a widening chasm…. Our windowless buildings are mechanically heated and cooled during winter and summer, illuminated fluorescently, decorated with plastic rubber plants…. Most Americans now live and work much of their lives within these spaces; for them, weather reports are mere minutiae….

Were it not for the current concern over the recognition that fossil fuels are indeed finite, and thus limited, we would have discovered few reasons to re-establish our relationship with the sun. Even now, as the debate over solar energy becomes a discussion of national significance, the sun is not viewed with any vestige of past reverence, but is seen as an “energy source,” a producer of so many energy units per square foot of the earth’s surface…. Indeed, some of us have become so removed that we are in the process of creating our own suns, here on earth. It is nuclear energy, in its fission and fusion forms, that is at the opposite pole of the energy debates. Those who see the sun as an energy producer are on one side of the table; those who would split and disintegrate the atom in an earthbound replica of the sun’s core are on the other. It is the ultimate indicator of our hurtling journey away from the sun that some of us now propose, in fact favor, creating our own suns here on the planet….

I am going to pause the excerpt – but will soon provide more of it – for a reminder that, in Chapter One, we noted that Yahshua, in the midst of his remarks on Sun Yoga, read aloud to his disciples an excerpt from the Nasarean Book of Enoch section of the Megillah that warns of the exact situation just mentioned above by Cole. I refer to the situation wherein two very different potential futures of mankind are revealed: 1) A path that includes the wise use of solar energy by humankind that results in a harmonious ‘Solar Civilization’; 2) A path that includes the creation of ‘false suns’ (a clear reference to nuclear power plants) and the exploitation of the natural world and of the mass of humanity by an elite few. I won’t reproduce all of Yahshua’s reading of that excerpt from ‘Nasarean Enoch’ below, but enough to show the strong similarity between this ancient Essene prophecy and the modern reality just described by Cole:

579. The Angel looked deeply into my eyes; again he spoke: “You, Enoch, are worthy to open the Seven Seals of the Group Ovum, for you opened your own seals.
580. And only those who open the seals of the Individual Ovum, can see clearly to open the seals of the Group Ovum.”
581. I bowed in humility before the angel, and I accepted the book.
582. Then, I opened the First Seal, and was shown a vision of the dawn of this world.

583. ‘Lo: I beheld two angels in the sky of this new world, one, the Angel of Power, the other, the Angel of Sun.
584. And they began to dance with each other, in the sky above the Earth.
585. And from the motion of their dance, they made a gift for mankind; yea, they gave to mankind the gift of Sunlight for Power.’

Before continuing the above excerpt in which Yahshua is reading aloud from the Nasarean Book of Enoch, I want to call your attention to the fact that the two angels that are together dancing the ‘gift of Sunlight for Power’ are 1) The Angel of the Tree of Life Branch of Power; and, 2) The Angel of the Tree of Life Root of Sun. The spiritual and physical relationship between these two cosmic forces – Power and Sun – is made clear in the following words of Yahshua spoken in the context of his giving the Contemplative Symbol for the Branch of Power; we read:

91. Yahshua said, “The Symbol for Contemplation of The Branch Force of Power is: Stars.

92. “Lo: A star is a ‘bridge between the spiritual and physical realms’, which is to say ‘a bridge between the branch forces and root forces’ that directly enables Spiritual Power to be translated into Physical Power.
93. That is why the spiritual ‘Branch’ of Power is directly related to the physical ‘Root’ Force of Sun in the symbolic drawing of the Essene Tree of Life.
94. But keep in mind that the Branch of Power is not limited to just the one star we call our ‘Sun’, but moves from the spiritual realms to the physical realms to expand creation through every Star of the Heavens – every past, present, and future star – whereas the Root Force of Sun deals particularly with our local star, and does so from the perspective of a human being interacting with a terrestrial force we call sunshine.
95. The stars of the heavens are, at the still center within each, doorways from the created physical realms into the spiritual realms, and human Souls are Living Sparks of the same, on a smaller scale, being microcosmic stars.
96. Each microcosmic star is always directly related to, as to a blood relative, all other stars.

In light of the above, the reader can better understand that in the excerpt from the Nasarean Book of Enoch – which we are still in the midst of – the fact that the two angels that Enoch described as dancing ‘the gift of Sunlight for Power’ are the Angel of Power and the Angel of Sun is not some random pairing of angels; it is a cosmically significant pairing. 

Yahshua continued to read aloud from the Nasarean Book of Enoch:

586. ‘And I [Enoch] beheld a possible blessed future, wherein the children of Earth danced in the light of the Sun.
587. And, lo: they used sunlight to power their civilization in diverse ways.
588. Freely the Sun gave sunlight, and freely was the power of the Sun shared amongst the dancing children of Earth.
589. Yea, the energy of the Sun did power the civilization, and the civilization was centered on the Sun.
590. And the people communed with the Sun, and knew that within the physical Sun, was a spiritual Sun.
591. And even as the civilization was powered by the energy of the physical Sun, the light bodies of the people were powered by the energy of the spiritual Sun.
592. And the people were enlightened by the encoded wisdom in the rays of the spiritual Sun, which are hidden within the glorious beams of light from the physical Sun.

593. ‘Yea, this blessed possible future was civilization powered by the Sun.
594. And the Children of Earth danced in light and lived without power struggles beneath the Golden Orb of Light.
595. But behold: I saw that the present path of mankind was not the blessed path unto the blessed future, but a dark path of false power.
596. And then I was shown a vision of the future to which this present path will lead.’

597. Yahshua closed the Megillah and said, “Later in The Book of Enoch, it is made clear to Enoch that humanity must choose between the heliocentric ‘Blessed Future’ or that of the dark future based on false power and false suns.
598. One that would learn to practice Essene Sun Yoga does well to begin by contemplating his or her personal relationship to the various bodies of our Sun including its Spiritual Body and, in the light of the excerpt from the Book of Enoch, to dedicate oneself to help bring about the heliocentric ‘Blessed Future’ and thus help prevent the dark future as one way to serve YHWH.

Although Yahshua’s reading from ‘Nasarean Enoch’ ended at that point, I will now share the portion of ‘Enoch’ that was not shared in Chapter One; I will share the verses from ‘Enoch’ that describe the other possible future of mankind referred to in verses 595 and 596 above. The following verses relate to Cole’s reference to the misuse of the energy of the sun to create nuclear power plants and nuclear bombs:

24. Yea, this blessed possible future was civilization powered by the Sun.
25. And the Children of Earth danced in light and lived without power struggles beneath the Golden Orb of Light.
26. But behold: I saw that the present path of mankind was not the blessed path unto the blessed future, but a dark path of false power.
27. And then I was shown a vision of the future to which this present path will lead.
28. Lo: Mankind took the power of the Sun and made with it false suns.
29. Yea, they made many false suns, some to explode and kill, others to make warmth and light.
30. Behold: Those of false power who created the false suns claimed ownership of the heat and light of the false suns, and made the common people pay for the heat and light.
31. Yea, and they used the exploding suns, which were the false suns made to be weapons, to enslave the people of the world in joyless toil, and to ensnare all the nations in their spidery web of deceit.
32. And with their false power, the rich became richer, yea, and the poor became poorer.

In the following excerpt from Rodney Colin’s classic text on what I would call esoteric astronomy – it is titled The Theory of Celestial Influence and is used by astrologers but also by anyone open to esoteric science related to the stars – he provides jaw-dropping information on what the Black Magic Alchemists (mainstream nuclear scientists funded by the military industrial complex) have unwisely done in their attempts to exploit atomic power for weapons and nuclear power plants. Not only does the following excerpt provide that eye-opening revelation, but also provides other fascinating solar-related information. Collin’s writes:

What nourishes the cosmos of the Sun?  By this question, we do not refer to interchanges within the Solar System itself, whereby beings or matters [various forms of matter], long since emanated by the Sun, may return to it at last, and in this sense feed their creator.  For that movement is rather an internal circulation within the great solar body. [That body encompasses the entire solar system.]

What food does the Sun take in from outside its system?  What are the free matters of still vaster cosmoses [Day: ‘Cosmoses’ is Collin’s preferred way to render ‘cosmos’ plural] by which it is sustained?  If we may be excused a rather startlingly anthro-pomorphic deduction from our human example, we would say that it should eat the matter of the system of Sirius, breathe the matter of the Milky Way, and perceive by virtue of the Absolute.

This last idea is clearly beyond our consideration. 
Of the second we have some scientific indications.

In recent years, the idea has grown more and more accepted that the depths of the Milky Way, instead of lying empty between sun and sun, are filled with clouds of drifting gas – that same gas from which (it is now believed) these suns originally congealed.  In the 1940’s, Lyttleton and Hoyle further developed the idea that these suns, ‘tunneling’ – as they described it – through this gas, pick up the medium through which they pass, leaving an empty trail behind them.  Interstellar gas is sucked into our Sun, they said, and is there consumed or incorporated into the Sun’s mass.

This, of course, is an exact description of a being ‘breathing’ the medium through which it passes.  For a man could in the same way be said to be ‘tunneling’ through air as he sucks it into himself while walking or running.

Hoyle further assumes, from coal deposits in Spitsbergen and the Antarctic which indicate that tropical vegetation once existed near the poles, that the Sun has at times been rather hotter than it is now.  And similarly, that the great ice ages may have resulted from a slight decrease in its temperature.  He connects this with greater or less intake of interstellar gas, that is, with deeper or shallower ‘breathing’. Such coal deposits are a hundred or two-hundred million years old.  If we refer to our table of cosmic times, we find that such a period is of the order of a solar day.  And combining our own line of thought with Hoyle’s, we may suggest that the variations of which he speaks are connected with that fundamental change in the nature of a being’s breathing which takes place between night and day, between the sleeping and waking state.

The chief point of this idea of cosmic ‘feeding’, however, is that the Sun stands to the Milky Way as man does to the Earth, and it stands to the Absolute as man himself does to the Sun.

Various observations support this first relationship.  We see the surface or plane of the Milky Way (which is all we can visualize of it) peopled with millions of suns, just as we see the surface of the earth peopled with millions of men.  These suns revolve about the axis of the galaxy, as men revolve about the axis of the earth.  And they are now said to breathe the galactic atmosphere as men breathe the terrestrial one. 

Such are the material implications of the comparison.  But what of the metaphysical ones?  We have already seen that in relation to man the Sun possesses to the utmost the divine attributes of omnipotence, omnipresence, eternity, of creation, maintenance….  What shall we say then of an Absolute which is as divine to the Sun, as the Sun is to us, which represents as it were divinity squared?  If anyone fear that a physical approach to the universe may diminish his conception of God, let him meditate upon this: That… is but a speck to the Absolute of All.

The better to do so, let us ask again: What is the Sun in relation to man?  By other reasoning, we concluded that the Sun contains all possibilities for man.  Now we can examine the meaning of this statement in more detail. It is a general principle that the rarer and finer the matter the greater the number of possibilities contained in it.  Philosophically, we said that the Absolute must, by definition, contain all possibilities.  And as we descend the scale of worlds, on each level the number of possibilities contained in matter diminishes.

When we reach the familiar level of earthly elements, the possibilities are already clearly … limited.  An Atom of iron contains in itself the possibility of combining with other atoms to form a whole series of molecules – it contains within itself the possibility of being incorporated in steel, rust, a mordant dye, and even a raisin or human blood.  But it does not naturally contain the possibility of becoming an atom of copper.  This is a definite limitation of possibility belonging to the level of the earth.  Similarly, atoms of carbon, oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen between them contain the possibilities of all living matter.  But they do not contain the possibility of becoming each other. On Earth one element does not naturally contain the possibility of another element.

If we descend another level to the world and scale of man, we find molecules in turn beginning to become fixed.  A molecule of wood contains in itself the possibility of becoming incorporated in a particle of table or a particle of pencil, but it does not contain the possibility of becoming a molecule of butter, even though its constituent elements may be the same….

Now, returning to the process that we seemed to detect upon the Sun, we find a much greater range of possibility existing there than we are familiar with on Earth.  There one element can change into another.  On Earth, one may leave an atom of iron overnight, assured that it will still be an atom of iron in the morning.  Everything in our life and perception depends upon this axiom. But on the Sun this is no longer true.  There what is a carbon-atom one moment is a nitrogen-atom the next, and an oxygen-atom the third.  One element contains in itself the possibility of another element.  We may even hazard, from a study of the principle of atomic chain-reactions, that a hydrogen atom contains within itself the possibility of all other elements. 

It now becomes clear what man, in his efforts to split the atom, was trying to do.  Working with uranium, he succeeded in chipping one electron off an atom of unnatural, almost pathological density.  Yet even this [chip of one electron] released energy on an incomparably greater scale than any he had conceived before.  Using the force so made available as starter, he then endeavored to make hydrogen atoms combine to form helium atoms, yielding practically unlimited energy in the process exactly as we have described.

What in fact he was attempting, was to introduce on Earth a phenomenon which does not belong to the Earth at all, but belongs to the nature of the Sun.  The hydrogen bomb involved the actual creation on earth of a miniature sun.  The result of this black magic could only be utter devastation and the reduction of living to inert material on a completely new scale.  This process also sounds familiar.  Man, prostitutes solar force to produce dead earth.  Form reduces spirit to matter.  Such a process can only be crime.

By trying to use atomic energy, that is, by trying to discover how to change one atom into another, man was searching for entrance into the world where matter contains all possibilities. Probably there is a legitimate entrance to such a world.  If man could discover how to maintain individual consciousness when matter returns to an electronic state, he would already be free of such a world.  And from what we deduced earlier, it seems that this possibility is connected with the problem of death, and the mystery of death.

But evidently there is also an illegitimate way to approach such a world.  This refers to the use of scientific laws without improvement of man’s consciousness and being.  Such an approach, from thenature of the forces involved, can only lead to disaster.

While such unwise dabbling in Black Magic Alchemy may be disastrous on the scale of human society on this particular planet, Colin’s points out that, in the larger-scale outlook of the Sun and the other stars, such a disaster is a minor, impermanent disturbance:

Yet on the scale of the Sun even this is of no importance.  We must realize that there, in the Solar World, nothing that we regard as fixed is fixed.  All that we see as permanent is there transient, while what we see as transient is there eternal.  It means that for us the Solar World is inconceivable.  In it are contained infinitely greater possibilities than exist in any world we know or can imagine.  Indeed, if we remember the relation between cosmoses which we already established, we shall realize that while the world of Nature contains man’s time and the world of Earth his recurrence, the Solar World must represent the sixth dimension for him, this is, The Sun contains all possibilities for man.  

Go out and stare at the sun in the sky.  Why are you blinded?  Why are you unable to define or describe what you see? Why is the impression incomparable with anything else you know?  It is because you are looking through a hole in our three-dimensional scenery, out into the six-dimensional world.

The material of the Sun, or electronic matter, is beyond form and beyond time.  It is even beyond the recurrence of form and the repetition of time.  In relation to our world, it is immortal, eternal, and omnipotent…. 

We, as spiritual yogis, work to save our species and planet from disasters, because that is what love does: it offers help. Even so, we are advised by the masters to ‘work without attachment to the result of the work’, when it comes to ‘working to save the world’. By our performance of loving kindness on behalf of our species and our planet, we are simply being what we have evolved into: A Hand of Christ, a worker of Universal Love. If enough humans respond to our message, perhaps our species and our environment will be saved from some otherwise painful consequences. If not, we are ourselves nevertheless elevated by our own evolution into greater Love Consciousness, and all other souls will be given further opportunity to advance on the Spiral Ladder of Being.  

We now return to John N. Cole’s gem of a book Sun Reflections: Images For The New Solar Age. Because it is a purrrfect fit here, I will jump ahead into the section of Cole’s book where he describes his vision of a ‘Solar Civilization’. After that, I will return to where we left off in the first excerpt from Cole that ended with his reference to using the power of the sun positively or negatively. Cole writes: 

The 100 billion stars in our galaxy are arranged in the form of a flattened spiral. The sun and its family lie well away from the center, about one-third of the way toward the edge. The spiral is so large that a flash of light from one edge would take 100,000 years to reach the other side. The sun has its own path in the galaxy, making an orbit every 200 million years. And the galaxy itself revolves at the rate of about 200 miles per second….

HOW MUCH ENERGY DOES IT PRODUCE? The sun produces more energy in one second than we have produced in all human earth-history. In three days, the sun sends out more energy than we could create by burning all the wood, gas, oil and coal stored in our earth.…

On an average, the density of the sun is about a quarter that of the earth. Its outer layer, the photosphere, is so diffuse that we would call it a vacuum here on earth. Only halfway into its center does the sun become as dense as water. Despite the thinness of the gaseous outer layer of the sun, we can see no deeper than this opaque area. From earth, these gases give a clear-enough outline to make the sun look solid….

Thus the sun not only warms and illuminates the planets, it also envelopes them in its own atmosphere….

A quick pause and then we will continue the Cole excerpt; he is leading into his description of a possible future Solar Civilization. I am pausing briefly to remind the reader that, in Chapter One, we learned that the last sentence of Cole is literally true: The entire Solar System is actually One Living System consisting of many sub-bodies – including yours – that are all truly a part of the Sun. Consult the previous issue where we quoted Lawrence Blair’s book Rhythms of Vision at length and even included drawings that demonstrate that fact. I will here provide three sentences of that longer excerpt as a reminder of his main point on this topic; Blair writes:

The sun which we see in the sky, for instance, is but the kernel, the only visible part of a much larger sun which envelops the very limits of the solar system with its radiative body. The earth is within the sun, plunged in the solar wind, spiraling with its sister planets like organs within the same solar body. I can touch the sun with my face, even in the dark….

Back to Cole:

For at least two generations, the sun has so increasingly become the property of science that it has all but vanished from popular view. For a species which has lived all of its brief cosmic life in close contact with natural presences, this sudden breakup of its relationship with the sun can prove traumatic; in the eyes of some observers, it already has. It should be, according to those who argue the case, beneficial to us all, scientist and layman alike, to re-establish the sun’s complete identity.

We must learn – as our recent ancestors surley learned – to see the sun in each of its many dimensions. Once we come to comprehend the wondrous complexity, the potent mystery, of our star, once we become re-acquainted with its traditions as well as its dimensions, we will not only begin to “see” the sun more clearly but we are quite likely to learn that living in harmony with the limits of this planet is not cause for anxiety. Instead, it can be cause for contentment.

According to its proponents, a solar village’s dwellings could be energized by the sun, as well as some small manufacturing plants and several offices. Residents would travel in electric vehicles charged by solar devices, and each village would include a solar thermal-electric plant, systems for recycling sewage into fertilizer, greenhouses, and a 100-acre, organic vegetable farm…. Its residents will live in harmony with the sun and their energy will come from the sun, the patterns of their lives will shift… to equilibrium.

The schools their children attend will include a solar curriculum, and each and every citizen will sense a profound change in the rhythms of their lives as they begin to order those lives in conjunction with the sun.

As the prototype community begins to evolve, it will be watched by hundreds of millions of other Americans still living in Industrial Age villages, towns, and cities. And as those millions come to comprehend the benefits their solar brethren are discovering, the move toward national solarization will become a social revolution as fundamental as any in the history of civilization….

The solar village is, in fact, the only justification I can see for the incredible accumulation of solar science that is now at the disposal of the earth’s technicians. That accumulation of data… that great mass of solar information that has begun to be gathered, each of the collected bits of sun history that have been discovered… indicate that we can live by the sun. There is, according to scientific sun documents, ample solar energy to sustain us all.

What is needed to allow that science to be usefully applied, of course, is more public awareness, more public trust in the sun’s dimension as a provider…. When that renaissance begins… with the evolution of a new and rewarding relationship with the sun… solar science will be one of the elements of that relationship…. 

What we, and the would-be builders of the nation’s first solar community, have to build on is the total body of solar science that has been accumulated over the centuries. What that tells us is that the sun, like every other natural presence, is alive, is evolving, is vast, is still mysterious, and is surely capable of providing this planet and others with the energy to sustain our lives, and the lives of countless generations to come…. 

We have learned there is a great deal left to learn about the human mind; we are discovering that there is a great deal left to be discovered about the sun. Yet the existing body of scientific solar discoveries has established enough of the sun’s energy dimensions to allow us to think realistically about living in a solar society. That is, if you will, a scientific fact. A solar community could, indeed, function, and function well.

It could have already been built had we achieved a fuller understanding of our star. If we had coupled some sun fancy with the sun facts our scientists have recorded, if some of the bright threads of legend had been woven into our contemporary solar tapestry, if we had re-acquainted ourselves – as children of the Industrial Age – with the solar myths that were part of the fabric of life before the steam engine, before the computer and the incandescent bulb, then we would, even now, be building our solar communities. Science does not build communities; imagination does – imagination energized by scientific observation….
And although new scientific discoveries are still to be made of the sun’s vast and fiery plain, enough have already been reported to give us all the sun facts we need to start building a solar society.

In regard to Cole’s 1981 envisioning of a future Solar Civilization, it is important to note that it would be far more feasible now than when he wrote those words, and he felt that it was already feasible then – if we had the societal will. The reason I say that it would be far more feasible now is that, in the decades since he wrote his book, there have been revolutionary advances in solar technology. The photovoltaic cells we have now are far more efficient than what was available in 1981. What we are still lacking is the political and societal will-power to overcome the forces that oppose solar advances; number one on that list is, of course, the fossil fuel industry led by ‘Big Oil’.

One more observation about Cole’s description of his proposed Solar Civilization. Unlike what we imagine today – that we would just convert new and existing structures to operate on solar energy wherever possible – Cole’s vision was much more holistic, much more similar to what was described in the Nasarean Book of Enoch. Cole envisioned society being re-organized into networks of Solar Villages. Those villages were of a particular, well-planned size, a size that was linked to a 100-acre organic garden and other strategic features such as cottage industries. Before a full ‘Solar Civilization’ was built, Cole advocated the planning and creation of first one original prototype ideal Solar Village, and then a network of such villages. 

The above information reminds me of a poem I once wrote! Its way too long to provide in its entirety, so I am just going to give you the portion that refers directly to Global Warming and to my ‘antidote’: the launching of a mission called G-WAR! That term is an acronym for: Green Wizards Arts Rebellion (an ‘acronym’ is created by taking the first letter of each word of a term like: E.S.P. (Extra Sensory Perception). G-WAR! is a call to a creative arts revolution, not a conventional war. The idea is to advocate that, no matter what your form of art or creativity, you can use it to advance the cause of the coming Solar Civilization which, truth be told, is the only antidote to a Global Warming disaster of a scale that would be the worst blow to human society in the history of civilization.

Here is a small portion of that epic poem (at least ‘epic’ in length; the full poem is eighteen pages in my book titled, Green Wizard Poetry). Recall that in the Nasarean Book of Enoch, the entities that ‘pull the puppet strings’ of the nefarious forces behind Global Warming are the Seraphim (‘false angels’) and the forces that assist those of us trying to usher in the Solar Civilization are the Cherubim (‘good angels’). 

NOTE: The reference in the poem to Robert Kennedy Jr is to an environmental lawyer who is the son of the assassinated Senator Robert Kennedy and the nephew of the assassinated President John Kennedy – who wrote a book that revealed that only several corporations control almost all of the major media outlets. In an ‘Op-Ed’ [that term stands for ‘Opinion Editorial’] that he wrote and was published in a newspaper – and that I heard him give a talk on at an environmental law conference – he revealed the following facts:

I quote:

“Five multinational corporations
now control 100% of the 14,000 radio stations in America;
these five multinational corporations also control 100% of the
15,000 television stations in America,
eighty percent of the newspapers,
100% of our billboards,
and nearly all of the large Internet Content Providers.
There are five corporations
deciding what Americans
will be told.”

If you wonder why an environmental lawyer (Robert Kennedy Junior is one of the best and has done much to save our environment from the polluters) would be so concerned about the issue he described in the Op-Ed – that five multinational corporations virtually control the media INCLUDING THE INTERNET PROVIDERS – recall what John N. Cole said was necessary to create a Solar Civilization:

What is needed to allow that [Solar] science to be usefully applied, of course, is more public awareness, more public trust in the sun’s dimension as a provider….

It is a challenge to get the majority of the population to support an idea like ‘transformation into a Solar Civilization to prevent Global Warming disaster’ when the very same people that own most the stock in ‘Big Oil’ also own most the stock of ‘Big Media’.

Before returning to the Cole excerpt that I am now commenting on a portion of – the portion where he described his idea of a Solar Civilization – I have a song to share. 

Immediately after writing the longer-version of the above poem, I took my own advice: I conjured some ‘green art’ in the form of a song. As an example of ‘Green Rock and Roll’, I wrote the following song titled, Global Warming Disaster If We Fail. In this article, you won’t get to hear the Jimmy Hendrix-like electric guitar solo ☺ but you will get the lyrics about Global Warning and our need to take action. The lyrics of this song also appear in my book, Green Wizard Poetry.

Before sharing the song, I will take a moment to educate those readers of this article that are younger than me (which is likely over 90% of you!) in regard to a key lyric in the song. The lyric ‘Sabbath sang of War Pigs’ is a reference to an ancient ☺ rock and roll band called ‘Black Sabbath’. They were not enlightened, but they managed to write a great song called ‘War Pigs’, an anti-Vietnam War song from approximately 1970. It refers to military generals that conjure destruction in the manner of witches at black masses. My song refers to that song, and, when my song refers to ‘Ozzie’, it is referring to the name of the lead singer of Black Sabbath.

We are now going to resume our excerpt from John N. Cole’s book, Sun Reflections: Images For The New Solar Age. We have examined – and I just commented on – a section of his book where he describes his vision for a Solar Civilization, and now we will pick-up the excerpt where he is describing the great veneration that the ancients had for the Sun. Recall that I was providing support for Yahshua’s remarks in verse 553 of Chapter Sixty-One in The Holy Megillah:

553. “However, one need not be a Great Wizard to perceive that our Sun enables life – including our own life – to exist and flourish in this world and, therefore, deserves our sincere reverence and appreciation and heartfelt love expressed in acts such as the various practices of Essene Sun Yoga.”

Cole writes:

If the challenge were to grant a comprehension of the sun to one who had lived underground since birth, and there was but a brief, limited time span allowed, then I would opt for a reading of sun myths, rather than an attempt at a scientific explanation of the solar presence. All of us might find much to be learned from such an approach to the sun. Like philosophers of centuries past, we might re-establish (and be the better for it) the links between the solar system of our external universe, and the mirror of that system that is our internal mystery. Our consciousness, our being, our presence, our soul, our spirit, whatever name is given to our being, is, like the sun and the universe, mostly mystery – a bright star, able to be “seen” by each of us, yet fully understood by none.

The sun within, as well as the sun without – people of every continent, of every nation, have been aware of the sun within themselves, have been aware of the awesome differences of light and dark, good and evil, intellect and brute, wisdom and ignorance, miracle and black magic, heaven and hell, life and death. From these contrasts… they [all of the ancient peoples] have spun sun myths and sun legends ever since the first heroes and villains were described by the story tellers and temple priests of the earliest known settlements….

The sun is as real for us as it was for the ancients. In ways we cannot comprehend – because we now have the myths of science – it was the ruling reality. Thus, with the moon and the stars, with the animals and the trees, with life and with death, with fire and water, the sun became the progenitor of myth, and the parent of religion. In the absence of any believable competition, the sun was quite completely believed. That was the importance of sun myth. If it existed today, the Solar Age would have long since begun….

We return to John N. Cole for one very brief yet very significant excerpt that will lead us to some related verses from the Nasarean Emerald Tablet Scrolls, and then to several verses from Yahshua’s remarks on Sun Yoga. Cole writes:

The ancient astrology symbol for the sun portrayed the place of the individual in the circle of the whole, of spiritual reality. As an image of the center around which other matter in the system revolves, it symbolizes the organizing principle for single atoms as well as galaxies….

Not only does astrology use the above symbol – a point at the center of a circle – as a symbol for the sun in the center of a solar system, esoteric spiritual traditions – including the Nasarean Essene tradition – have used that symbol to represent any monad – any soul – stepping into manifestation from the unmanifest realm or, equally valid, to symbolize a monad that is so spiritually ‘centered’ that he/she is in the meditative state Nasareans call ‘One Touching Zero’.

The point or dot is the symbol for ‘one’, the symbol for the ‘individual unit’ that is part of the unified whole symbolized by the circle. The outer circle can symbolize the ‘Whole Universe’ that we call ‘The One Thing’ or ‘The All’. The circle can also symbolize the ‘Still Zero’ of the realm of unactualized potential that the point of ‘I Am’ emerges from in the process of manifestation. The point can symbolize an individual soul like you or I, but can also symbolize the emergence of a star, which, as we previously learned, is a bridge between the unmanifest spiritual realm and the manifest physical realm.

Here are some related verses from the Nasarean Emerald Tablet Scrolls on the topic of the ‘One’ or ‘Point’ emerging from the Still Zero, and then I will share some verses from Yahshua that link this idea with the Sun.

There are four scrolls that together make up what we call The Nasarean Emerald Tablet Scrolls. In the Megillah, each of the four scrolls appears as a chapter; the fours chapters run consecutively forming their own sub-unit within the Megillah. We refer to that four-chapter sub-unit as ‘The Nasarean Emerald Tablet Scrolls’. 

What non-Nasareans call ‘the Hermetic tradition’, consists of later writers elaborations on a small amount of fragments from the original Nasarean Emerald Tablet Scrolls. One of the main writers of the scrolls was a Nasarean Wizard named Hermon – which is where we get the later historical references to ‘Hermes’ and ‘Hermetic’ – and the other key writers of the scrolls are Abraham (the Nasarean Sun King) in the form of a Golden Dragon, Sa’arah (the Nasarean Sun Queen) in the form of a Silver Dragon, and a Phoenix Bird named Thoth. In the Third Emerald Tablet Scroll, Thoth telepathically gave the following teaching that was written down by Wizard Hermon:

30. Spirit is well symbolized by Still Zero.
31. Because Spirit is from before form, form is a child of Spirit.
32. All forms come from the Womb of Spirit – the Still Zero – into manifestation.
33. Everything that steps through the Center that is Still Zero into manifestation in creative expansion has stepped into a realm that is itself still within the Ultimate Circumference that is Still Zero and remains centered by Still Zero.
34. That is why Gilgalah teaches: ‘The One Thing is inclusive of everything, being both the Center and the Circumference of The All.’

In the same scroll, Phoenix Thoth gives the following additional information on this topic:

39. When ‘Yah’ – ‘Am’ – becomes a point in the center of Zero, that is Yah declaring ‘I AM’.
40. ‘I Am’ is ‘Eh Yah’, which is the same thing as Yah but coming into manifestation as a Crown Point, an ‘Individuation of Yah’, a ‘Focus Point of Yah’.
41. That is the Point within each part of the All that declares ‘I AM’.
42. The Supreme Circumference is Yah Unpointed, Un-Individuated; even so, every Point is within that Supreme Circumference That Includes All, well symbolized by the Circle.
43. When previously unmanifested potential space – the Void – becomes actualized, it is then within The Circle of Manifestation; even unmanifest potential is within The Circle Of Yah That Includes Ain Sof.
44. For, all possibilities are within Ain Sof – the Realm of Infinite Possibilities – and Ain Sof is within Yah.

We will later return to the Emerald Tablet Scrolls for some additional sharings – including some specific references to the sun and to stars being a Universal Heart – but now we are going to share some verses from Yahshua that shine additional light on the above information.

In verses 550-552 of his Lecture on Sun Yoga (in Chapter Sixty-One of the Godspell portion of the Megillah), recall that Yahshua told his disciples:

550. “Our Sun is an extension of the First Sun that emerged from Still Zero and is related to every star of the heavens just as all humans are one family.
551. In Nasarean Cosmology, our Sun is believed to be a star that is closer to our world than the others, and all stars are ambassadors of YHWH.
552. Unlike the common belief of this age, Nasarean Cosmology affirms that our Sun is the center that the planets of this chain circle around, and that many other stars are circled by other world-chains; but that is a mystery studied by Great Nasarean Wizards.”

Last night, having completed the paragraph (the excerpt) directly above, I ended writing for the night. After some yoga, I entered the largest room of my rather vast personal library. Prior to beginning Part One of this book on Sun Yoga, I had pulled out all of the books that I knew had good information related to the Sun that I might want to use and placed them in a separate area, not in this room. Last night, as I stood in my library, I had a strong intuition that there was a book on one of these shelves (not in the room where I was keeping the books with good sun quotes) that had a very ‘juicy’ section on the Sun that would be purrrfect for this point of this article. I KNEW that was true and KNEW I would be drawn to it. I centered myself as near to the Still Zero as a human can get without slipping out of physical embodiment – we call that state ‘One Touching Zero’ – and I felt called to walk to a particular book case and my hand reached out and grabbed a particular book, and without yet knowing the title I KNEW it was the one that I was meant to find. I opened it randomly… and, of course (this happens to me all the time) it was information about the Sun and is purrrfect for this point in the chapter. 

When I go to used bookstores, I often buy fifteen or twenty books and, when I get home, put them on a shelf in my library knowing that, someday, I will have a chance to look each one over. That’s what had happened with this book – written in 1974 – when I purchased it a couple of years back. I knew that the author, G. de Purucker, was an excellent esoteric scholar since I owned another book by him. So, I had bought the book without looking it over, trusting that it would be worth having. And never opened it until last night… and opened randomly to a section on the Sun that I will now share with you. Because what I just described felt so ‘magical’, I trust that you will once again patiently tolerate my joyful sharing of an admittedly lengthy excerpt! ☺ As is my style, I will occasionally intersperse my own comments in the midst of the excerpt. 

The title of the book by G. de Purucker – a former head of the Theosophical Society – is Fountain-Source of Occultism. Here are the first words I set eyes on, having opened the book at random:

Our solar system began in Space, in the womb of Aditi, the Eternal Mother, as a nebula – not by chance, but as one of the stages in its new embodiment.  As this nebula slowly moved in space, at its heart there began to be a condensation of its substance.  This condensation became the Sun….

Let us raise ourselves in spirit to a portion of cosmic infinitude which science would call empty space; and then raise our minds upwards and inwards seven stages or planes until we reach the plane of cosmic spirit.  All the planes through which our mind has passed form the manifested body or being of Aditi…. As we remain in thought on this highest plane through aeons of cosmic time, our consciousness having become an observer, grows cognizant of motion in the spirit-substance around us.  A mathematical point or center seems to be condensing, begins to glow with light and take unto itself movement in circular or rotatory fashion, as well as movement of translation or progression.

Recall that shortly before opening that book I had been sharing several excerpts from John Cole, the Nasarean Emerald Tablet, and Yahshua on the topic of the Sun linked with the POINT AT THE CENTER OF A CIRCLE. I had ended the Cole excerpt with these words: 

The ancient astrology symbol for the sunportrayed the place of the individual in the circle of the whole, of spiritual reality. As an image of the center around which other matter in the system revolves, it symbolizes the organizing principle for single atoms as well as galaxies….

I then shared the similar information from the Nasarean Emerald Tablet and Yahshua. So, in the full awareness that a profound synchronicity is quite magically unfolding before our eyes, let us continue with the Purucker excerpt.

As we watch in thought through the ages, we see this center become duplicated and multiplied elsewhere in the substance-space around us: these other and apparently smaller foci doing just as the first point had done, glowing with unimaginable splendor and moving….  We begin to notice that the so-called empty space, in which these various flashing points exist, itself becomes thoroughly active as spiritual substance; and, as still other ages pass by in our thought, we realize that we are observing the condensation or formation of a spiritual nebula, or a sea of flaming but heatless spiritual Fire in which the revolving points exist as living nuclei, each one formed around a laya-center.

Two quick definitions of terms used above by Purucker: 1) ‘spiritual nebula’ and 2) ‘laya center’. The dictionary definition of ‘nebula’ is ‘interstellar cloud of gas and dust’. By the term ‘spiritual nebula’, Purucker is describing a very ethereal – nebulous, vaporlike, subtle – first beginnings of a star that emerges from the Still Zero interface with ‘space’ in the Mother Ovum (‘Aditi’). This is that intermediate state between spirit and matter that we call ‘One Touching Zero’ and that Yahshua referred to in this previously provided excerpt from the Megillah:

92. “Lo: A star is a ‘bridge between the spiritual and physical realms’, which is to say ‘a bridge between the branch forces and root forces’ that directly enables Spiritual Power to be translated into Physical Power.
93. That is why the spiritual ‘Branch’ of Power is directly related to the physical ‘Root’ Force of Sun in the symbolic drawing of the Essene Tree of Life.
94. But keep in mind that the Branch of Power is not limited to just the one star we call our ‘Sun’, but moves from the spiritual realms to the physical realms to expand creation through every Star of the Heavens – every past, present, and future star – whereas the Root Force of Sun deals particularly with our local star, and does so from the perspective of a human being interacting with a terrestrial force we call sunshine.
95. The stars of the heavens are, at the still center within each, doorways from the created physical realms into the spiritual realms, and human Souls are Living Sparks of the same, on a smaller scale, being microcosmic stars.
96. Each microcosmic star is always directly related to, as to a blood relative, all other stars.”

Purucker’s reference to the ‘spiritual nebula’ is to that subtle, ethereal realm between the Spiritual Realm and the Physical Realm where things first step out of Still Zero into the realm of numbers, the realm of the spiral movement that manifests as electromagnetism and begins as a nebulous gas-like vapor that will become a star that may then birth planets.

Purucker’s reference to a ‘laya center’ is defined elsewhere in his book as a ‘neutral center of latent force’. ‘Neutral’ here means that it – like the Still Center that it represents in the physical realm – is neither Yin or Yang but is the center and circumference that gives birth to both of those polarities; in other words, it is the gender-neutral source of Yin (She) and Yang (He).

Back to Purucker:

As time passes on, this spiritual nebula and all parts of it, both its fullness and the different nuclei, send emanations or flowing forces and substances from themselves down to the next lower plane of the body of Aditi [Day: ‘Mother Nature’ or ‘Mother Ovum’], which plane in its turn is thus awakened by regular serial stages to manifesting nebular life.  This progressing descent [Day: from Spirit to very ethereal matter to progressively more dense matter] continues steadily through emanation upon emanation, so that every plane of the body of Aditi, or the universe, in its turn becomes a field of space or the stage of awakening existence and of innumerable living points, which are manifesting monads.

Just a very quick definition of ‘monad’: it means ‘one’ in the sense of an ‘Individual Soul’, each of which is one cell within the Universal One or Universal Monad. In the image of the point in the center of the circle, the point represents the ‘Individual Soul’ or the ‘I AM’ emerging from Still Zero, and the Circle represents the Universal One that includes every Individual Soul/Monad and thus is the ‘One in All’. 

Back to Purucker: 

When the physical plane [Day: the obviously physical realm rather than ethereal physical plane] of space is reached, we begin to discern the same phenomena; faint wisps and streaks of light coalesce and become a luminous nebula, increasing in brilliancy as the ages pass, in which the living nuclei – or rather the emanations on this lowest plane reaching out from the original nuclei on the highest plane – again appear with their respective circular and translatory motions.

Thus, we have a nebula in its appearance on the physical plane. The nebula itself slowly whirls in majestic rotation through long ages, the living nuclei gradually becoming more brilliant and more active in their manifestation on the physical plane.  We then perceive that the largest of these living nuclei is really the beginning of our Sun….

Reaching its karmically destined locus in the galaxy, and passing by degrees through the stages of diffuse nebula and slowly rotating spiral nebula, it gradually assumes the form of the annular or ring nebula, and finally attains a spherical or egg-shaped form. Some magnificent photographs have been taken which show these different nebular shapes in various stages of their evolution.  Indeed, our own galaxy or home-universe, could we see it from some outside point, would look like some of the [spiral] disc nebulae that these photographs show so clearly.

Nature repeats her operations on all planes and in all ranges, high and low, inner and outer, for analogical action is the course of procedure of universal and all-permeant consciousness, which automatically follows the innate laws of its own being.  Once a universal solar system or general Egg of Brahma has reached its grossest or most materially evolved state of emanational unfolding, then we have a universal solar system just like our own, consisting of a number of different solar systems collected together because of karmic descent and destiny.

By the term ‘universal solar system’, Purucker is referring to a Grand Network of interrelated solar systems, interrelated due to karmic interactions in the past, present, and future.

I am going to eventually return to where we left off in the Purucker excerpt, but first I am going to provide an excerpt from the same book where he provides his definition of what he means by the term ‘Brahma’. He used the term above, and it will be used again, so let’s make sure we understand what is meant by ‘Brahma’. In Chapter One, when I was introducing the Nasarean ‘Solar Regents’ of our Sun, I wrote that:

In Vedic literature, a Brahma (a solar deity) oversees each Solar System, and each Brahma is under the dominion of a greater Brahma.

I want to make clear that the ‘Abraham’ of our sun – or of any star – is NOT the Brahma that is the soul of the star; rather, the ‘Abraham’ or ‘Abram’ is the Chief Cherubim Helper of that Brahma. The way that Brahma interacts with us is via the encoded information in the sunbeams. The entire Sun is the body of Brahma but Abraham, who has appeared on earth in the body of a human, normally wears an Angelic Cherub body and can appear as a Golden Dragon. Readers of the Megillah know that the Chief Tree of Life Angel of each branch or root force is NOT the force itself but the angelic helper of the force. Brahma can be considered the very soul of the star, the star being the literal body of Brahma. The Sun itself is a living being; Abraham the Abram is the Chief Cherubim Helper of the Sun but has his own body and his own soul. He presides as High Priest of the Temple of Light within the Seventh Heaven within the Sun. Again, this is true of all the Chief Tree of Life Angels; for example, Noah became the Chief Messenger Angel of the root force of water but is not himself that force.

Purucker provides the following information on his use of the word Brahma. He does not disagree with the basic Vedantic definition that I just provided above, but he makes clear that ‘Brahma’ can also be viewed as the deity at the center of all things, not just the center of the Sun. In that sense, Brahma is a term that simply refers to the Deity-Central-Organizing-Principle at the heart – core – of all units of nature, from the smallest (atoms and cells) to the largest (suns and galaxies). We read:

Brahma, generally speaking, is the cosmic divinity, although the word is likewise used in modern theosophical writings to signify the spiritual entity of which a planetary chain forms the seven principles or, otherwise, is the embodiment.  Each globe of such a planetary chain – and on the larger scale this is applicable to the entire solar system – corresponds not only with one of the principles of the Brahma of a planetary chain [Day: such as a solar system], but likewise each such globe is a focus… in which the consciousness of that Brahma is localized.

Precisely in the same manner man in his own sevenfold constitution [Day: seven chakras] has his different…  centers, in which the consciousness emanating from the god within him is localized and wherein it works.  In fact, his inner god during its periods of activity in manvantara – in this case in human incarnations – is the man’s Brahma.

As will become clear, the term manvantara used above refers to a long cycle – many long ages from the human perspective – of creative evolution in which Souls come out of the Still Zero into physical manifestation to form solar systems and planets and experience evolutionary adventures – an ‘outbreath’ of Deity into the Mother Ovum. A creative outbreath such as that is always eventually followed by a corresponding ‘harvest’ or ‘in-breath’ in which the manifested beings either return to the Unmanifest Realm or, at least, to a far more ethereal, subtle realm of manifestation that is invisible to the human senses. That return or ‘in-breath’ of Deity is in Sanskrit called pralaya. But no need to worry: just as the ‘out-breath’ (manvantara) is followed by an ‘in-breath’ (pralaya), so is each ‘in-breath’ destined to be followed by another ‘out-breath’. Purucker continues:

Every appearance of a solar system (and equally so of a planetary chain) into manvantaric manifestation is an outbreathing of its Brahma or cosmic divinity; similarly, every inbreathing of the same Brahma means its pralaya or resting period, the disappearance into higher planes of… being.  It is exactly so with man: when embodied on earth, he is like a pillar of light descending from the spirit downwards through all planes until the physical body is reached; when he dies and his constitution breaks up, the pillar of light gradually is indrawn from below upwards until it again reaches the spiritual realms, which means its disappearance from the lower cosmic planes.

Pralaya – from the root li, to dissolve, and pra, away – is the generalizing term for the state of rest or latency between two manvantaras or life cycles, of whatever magnitude.  Pralaya, then, is the dissolution of the visible into the invisible, the heterogeneous into the homogeneous; in other words, the objective universe returns into its one underlying primordial and eternally productive cause, to reappear at the following cosmic dawn as a new universe, the karmic fruitage of the old universe, its former ‘self’. To our finite minds, pralaya is like a state of nonbeing – and so it is for all existences and beings on the lower ethereal and material planes.

When a solar system appears out of cosmic latency at the end of its solar pralaya and begins its manifestations from the spirit downwards into matter, it is the outbreathing of that respective cosmic individual or Brahma.  Similarly, when the solar manvantara is ended, all the parts are withdrawn in serial order into the spiritual realms; there then ensues the solar pralaya, the inbreathing of that particular cosmic individual.

Consider the similarity of the Sanskrit ‘outbreathing’ called ‘manvantara’ and the ‘inbreathing’ called ‘pralaya’ with the following verses from The Holy Megillah: Nasarean Bible of The Essene Way.

88. Behold: Jahday and Jahnah rejoiced in the promise of Jah-Jahlah, which is The Promise of the Blessed Day of Play: So that Jahday and Jahnah and all of Their Christed Brethren and Sistren to come (these Christed Brethren and Sistren are those Beings who pierce the Mother Ovum and, after a time of refreshment in Heaven Most High, return to the Mother Ovum as Christ-Messiahs to assist the work of Jahday and Jahnah, the Supreme Christs) will have times of uninterrupted sweet communion with Jah-Jah in Heaven Most High, without the responsibilities of guiding evolving worlds, and without the sadness of seeing the results of unwise choices made by unwise Beings, and without the pain of the various crucifixions and persecutions that every Christ-Messiah will experience as they render merciful service in evolving worlds, Jah-Jah will periodically suspend all activity within The Mother Ovum.

89. Yea, all activity within the Mother Ovum will be suspended, and all Beings who are not yet Christed will sleep.
90. And while the Mother Ovum sleeps, Jahday and Jahnah and their Christed Brethren and Sistren, will enjoy a fathomless duration of play and communion with Jah-Jah in Heaven Most High, which surrounds the Mother Ovum.

91. Behold: the sleep of suspended activity will not harm the unchristed Beings left within the Mother Ovum; lo: they will each be as though frozen in time until the next cycle of activity begins.

92. Yea, then they will resume their evolutionary activities and, perhaps, will pierce the Mother Ovum and be Christed during this Grand Cycle, that they may participate in the Great Play with Jah-Jahlah at the end of this cycle.
93. And each Grand Cycle of Activity within the Mother Ovum is a Day of Expansion.
94. And each period of suspended activity within the Mother Ovum is a Night of Rest for those still unchristed within the Ovum.
95. And each period of play with Jah-Jah in the Most High Heaven is a Day of Play.
96. And each Grand Cycle of Activity, and each Night of Rest, and each Day of Play, are of fathomless duration, though those experiencing the Night of Rest will not be conscious of that duration.

97. Behold: The Blessed Day of Play is a special dispensation for Jahday and Jahnah and all of Their Christed Brethren and Sistren to come, by which they may enjoy Divine Play in Heaven Most High with Jah-Jahlah.
98. But, lo: think not that this special dispensation is the only time that Jahday or Jahnah, or another Christed Being, or any other Being whether Christed or not, may enjoy communion with Jah-Jahlah.
99. All Beings have within themselves access to the Presence of Jah-Jah!

In the above excerpt from the Megillah, the Nasarean term ‘Grand Cycle of Activity within the Mother Ovum’ also called ‘a Day of Expansion’ links well with Purucker’s Sanskrit term manvantara. Likewise, the Nasarean term ‘Period of Suspended Activity within the Mother Ovum’ also called a ‘Night of Rest’ links well with Purucker’s Sanskrit term pralaya.

Before returning to Purucker, I will share an excerpt from Yahshua which links the above idea of alternating cycles of outflow and inflow with our previous topic of the interplay of Still Zero and Number. In fact, Yahshua links both of those topics with Universal Tantra. In Chapter Fifty-Four of the Godspell section of The Holy Megillah, Yahshua says:

56. “Know this: after a time of outflow from Still Zero, we each return to Still Zero for a rest that is without time.
57. Then we will emerge again from Still Zero and repeat the inward-outward cycle that is the Divine Breath, The Dance of Still Zero and Numbers, the numbers themselves being masculine and feminine in alternating pulsations.
58. That One Whole Dance follows the lead of the First Trinity in Self-Replication.
59. And that is what I call Universal Tantra.
60. It is the Tantra of the Universe, within you and around you.
61. When you perform Essene Tantra, it is within the context of Universal Tantra.
62. For anything more graphic, as in how it plays out with men and women on a blanket beneath the sky, I leave it to Miriam to explain.”
63. The entire assembly laughed goodnaturedly as Miriam came forth and playfully grabbed Yahshua by the arm and pulled Him from the podium.

We return to the Purucker excerpt:

Every manifesting entity in the universe is a consciousness or monad. Thus, our sun is a solar monad, a divine being in its higher parts; similarly, every planetary chain is an individual, an entity of less spiritual magnitude than a sun, but a cosmic individual nonetheless.  Every atom is likewise during its manifestation an embodied individual – a god [Day: soul] at its heart, a life-atom in the intermediate part of its constitution, a chemical atom in its body….

Now the arc of ascent, which is the return to spirit of the Egg of Brahma, is accomplished by a reversal all along the line of what took place on the arc of descent.  Slowly through aeonic time, and from the very beginning of the arc of ascent, the universal solar system follows its long journey back to spirit….

Although the ages be many and long, the time in endless Duration will arrive when once more the great drama of a ‘new’ universal solar system will begin, but on a series of cosmic planes higher than those of its ‘old’ self.  All that was once X and Y and Z in the ‘old’ is now A and B and C in the ‘new’; and thus, by gradual stages up the galactic ladder of Being do all systems climb to destinies inconceivable by man.  It is the vast Mystery, of which we are all children, gods, and men, universes and atoms, galaxies and aggregates of galaxies, which is the rootless root of our inmost essence, from which we all came, unto which periodically we all return….

Brahma may be described as an individualized aspect of the cosmic Oversoul or Brahman, the individual root-divinity of any cosmic unit, whether a solar system like ours, or some larger or smaller individual.

This cosmic Egg is our universal solar system; and it contains not only our own solar system, but a number of others akin to ours because of ultimately identic [Day: ‘similar’] origin and destiny.  All these solar systems, interworking and interacting yet each one quite distinct from the others, are derivatives from a common primeval origin in far past cosmic manvantaras.  Further, this cosmic Egg is presided over by one grand solar chain or spiritual Sun which, because of its pre-eminence in age and spirituality, is called in the esoteric philosophy a Raja sun, a king sun, or a Raja star.

Recall that in Chapter One, we demonstrated that both the Nasareans and other spiritual traditions wrote about what they called ‘The Central Sun’. Purucker is about to do likewise:  

The “central sun” of the Occultists, which even Science is obliged to accept astronomically, for it cannot deny the presence in Sidereal Space of a central body in the milky way, a point unseen and mysterious, the ever-hidden center of attraction of our Sun and system – this “Sun” is viewed differently by the Occultists of the East.  While the Western and Jewish Kabbalists (and even some pious modern astronomers) claim that in this sun the God-head is specially present – referring to it the volitional acts of God – the Eastern Initiates maintain that, as the supra-divine Essence of the Unknown Absolute is equally in every domain and place, the “Central Sun” is simply the center of Universal Life-Electricity; the reservoir within which the divine radiance, already differentiated at the beginning of every creation, is focused.  Though still in a laya, or neutral condition, it is, nevertheless, the one attracting, as also the ever-emitting, life Center.

The “central suns” here referred to are the Raja suns around which more than one minor solar universe turns.  These Raja suns or king stars are scattered through the boundless spaces of Space in virtually infinite numbers, and many are not in our physical world at all.  However, there is of course no one central stellar body around which Infinity revolves.

At least part of the reason that last sentence is true is that the time-differential of the lifetimes of different stars and their systems are vast. But even more ‘central’ to that reality is the fact that, really, the ultimate center is at the heart of everywhere. Back to Purucker:

One solar system can pass its entire manvantara from beginning to end, enter upon and pass through its solar pralaya, and then begin a new solar manvantara, while other solar systems of the same cosmic Egg may or may not be doing the same thing.  The time periods, however long for an individual solar system, are all relatively short when compared with the vast time periods of the universal solar system.  Just as the planetary chains in our solar system have many re-embodiments within the universal manvantara of the cosmic Egg of Brahma.

Every monadic essence, every monad, no matter where or in what period of time, is a learning entity, always advancing from the less to the more perfect…. During the course of our evolution in the various cosmic manvantaras as they succeed each other, it is part of our destiny ultimately to become a glorious sun in space – more particularly its soul or spirit, not so much its physical body, be it visible or invisible.  And every such sun is composed of monads less evolved than it, godlings and atom-souls in the many degrees of their evolutionary development.

In regard to Purucker’s assertion that part of our destiny in spiritual evolution is to eventually reach the stage where we are the soul of a star, recall that we previously learned that the human father of Yahshua, Joseph, was going to do exactly that in his next incarnation: BE THE SOUL OF A STAR! The Megillah also previously informed us that when we commune with the stars outside at night, we are communing with saints! 

While it might be easier to imagine the human father of the Lord Christ graduating to that level than to imagine yourself doing so, remember that we are talking about endless duration of time to reach that level of ‘starhood’. It may take not just one or two manvantara cycles, it may take many such cycles before you are ready to be a star! 

Now, I predict that some of my readers might not like the idea of being a star for the reason that at first thought it might sound boring. It is fine with me – and I suspect fine with the universe – if you choose not to be a star! However, I suspect that once you realize how fascinating it would actually be, you will be more open to the idea. If you think it might be boring to stay in one place for so long, recall that in Chapter One we learned that the Sun is dancing a spiral into the Milky Way, moving much faster and farther than any human.                                                

And if you think that it might be boring because there is nothing to ‘do’, recall that in Part One we learned from Walter Russell that everything on Earth is an extension of the mind of the Sun: the Sun gets to enjoy anything that any being in the solar system ‘does’. In Chapter One we also learned from the Nasarean Wizard Pehri that the sun sees and enjoys what we see and enjoy. To understand how amazing it would actually be to be the Chief Solar Monad – the Soul – of the Sun, consider the following fascinating excerpt from Yahshua on the topic of ‘Monads as Points of View’. In the excerpt, Yahshua is pointing out that Deity can see through and learn from every monad’s point of view; I am asking you to apply that to the Sun and the countless monads in its jurisdiction. I am suggesting that just like Deity can see through every monad’s point of view in all of creation, the Sun Soul Monad can see through – and learn from – every monad in the solar system. That, my friends, is anything but boring!  Here is that excerpt from Yahshua on ‘Monads as Points of View’. In Godspell Chapter Eighty-One of the Megillah, we read:

104. The philosopher said to Yahshua, “Wise One, Your teachings are similar to the Pythagoreans’.
105. You similarly use the word, ‘Monad’. 
106. I have studied that topic for years, but I intuit that this night You will reveal something about Monads that I have not yet considered.”

107. Yahshua laughed in a friendly manner, then asked the man: “Are your intuitions typically proven accurate?”
108. The man laughed and said, “So far, my strongest intuitions have usually proven accurate!”
109. Yahshua replied, “Is this a strong one?”
110. The man looked Yahshua in the eyes, then said: “The strongest yet!” 

111. Yahshua said, “In Sacred Geometry, as you know, the Monad is often symbolized as a Point.
112. Each Point is a Oneness that is part of the All-Inclusive Oneness that consists of all points; that All-Inclusive Monad is called the ‘Universal One’.
113. But few philosophers, even amongst the wise Pythagoreans, realize that each ‘Point’ – each Monad, each Soul – is literally a ‘Point of View’.
114. We are all Points of View, and we each have a particular perspective.

115. “The Universal One can simultaneously see through the eyes of every Point of View.
116. And every Point of View has the freedom to change its perspective according to its own Self-Development in Spiritual Evolution.
117. The amazing thing is that the Universal One gets to experience, and thus learn from, every Point of View imaginable, simultaneously and also throughout eternal duration, even as each Point of View evolves and thus changes its perspective many times.

118. “As each Point evolves by stepping into actuality as a Line, each Point then manifests its own World-Line – its own eternally unfolding personal history – and each Line, even as it evolves throughout duration and changes its perspective, always is a Point of View that is itself being viewed by the Universal One.
119. “The Universal One, then, has all access to everything ever viewed by any Point of View, along with every consideration ever considered by those points, and also has access to all of the insights and lessons that will continue to be had as each Point of View evolves and thus changes perspective numerous times throughout Eternal Duration.

The Universal Monad has such an unfathomable body of knowledge and wisdom that it is not possible for any Individual Monad to accurately imagine just how much that actually totals, and even that unimaginable total is constantly increasing as each Individual Monad keeps learning, keeps evolving, keeps contributing everything it views to the ever-expanding Universal Intelligence.

121. “Even the Universal Monad continues to evolve as it continues to receive and process the lessons of every evolving Individual Point of View.
122.The eternal journey of any particular Individual Point – Individual Monad – is that point’s personal ‘World-Line’.
123. Each Individual World-Line, in motion through the universe, is actually a ‘Life-Spiral’, one Life-Spiral of countless Life-Spirals on the Spiral Ladder of Spiritual Evolution.

124. “While the Universal Monad receives the insights of every Individual Point of View – and thus gains knowledge and wisdom from that relationship – so can each Individual Point gain knowledge and wisdom from its relationship with the Universal Monad.
125. That incredible storehouse of knowledge and wisdom within the Universal Monad can be accessed by the Individual Monad, to the degree that is appropriate at any particular stage of spiritual evolution. 
126. That is the ‘Great Universal Intelligence’ – the Divine Mind – that we each have sensed and sometimes intentionally have accessed.

127. “Even when we are not intentionally accessing it, we benefit from that relationship because it is within us and all around us, all the time, influencing us via intuition and, in truth, by every lesson that life presents to us, informing our own evolution by including us in the One Universal Evolution.”

128. Perceiving that Yahshua had finished speaking, the philosopher said: “Speaking of ‘intuition’, once again I am glad that I trusted mine!
129. Indeed, You have given me new insights into insight!
130. And my new insight on the nature of the Individual Monad is, I now see, being seen by the Universal Monad, that One that sees All through All, from every perspective, even as those perspectives continue to evolve!
131. Amazing!”

If you, dear reader, reach the point of spiritual evolution required to be the Chief Soul Monad of a Star, you will be able to experience everything being experienced by any of the monads in your solar system. Boring? I think not! ☺ 

Now back to the excerpt from Purucker:

The spirit of our sun is surrounded by an army of these godlings [Day: the monads that make up the atoms of its etheric body] not as old as itself, yet in many cases they are great spiritual beings when contrasted with men. In their turn these young gods are composed of other less evolved beings, although of a spiritual character; and so forth throughout the solar hierarchy until the physical body of the sun is reached, which contains atom-souls formed of light.  These atom-souls, unself-conscious god-sparks, are all evolving continuously, and will with all other entities be ready to begin a new and higher cycle of experience at the opening of the new solar manvantara.

Recall that in Chapter One, we gave a number of examples of how ancient wise-ones believed that there was not only the physical Sun that we see, but that there were progressively more spiritual aspects to the Sun. Purucker is about to illuminate that topic:

That which we call the sun is but a physical reflection, a reflected essence of the real sun which to us is as invisible as air.  What we see is merely the spiritual-electromagnetic flame of the working of the titanic energies and forces which the sun essentially is; and we perceive all this on the physical plane and imagine it to be the sun.  It is the sun’s lowest, grossest aspect; yet even this aspect is only quasi-material or, rather, ethereal. In other words, the sun that we see is physical matter in its fifth, sixth, and seventh degrees of ethereality, these being the three highest degrees of matter on this physical cosmic plane.

From another standpoint, we can look upon the reflection of the physical sun that we see as its aura, i.e., its vital fluid surrounding and enclosing it so that it appears to us as a globe of splendorous light. In fact, we can say that it is that particular layer of the auric egg of the sun which is on the same sub-plane on which our earth and we as physical human beings are.

We have previously seen that the Megillah and various esoteric scholars assert that there is a spiritual realm within the sun where heavenly beings reside that is not, since it is spiritual, ‘hot’ like the physical body of the sun. Purucker now addresses that topic:

The time may not be too far distant when science will discover that the interiors of the various suns are not at all existing in conditions of incomprehensibly intense heat, although it is probably true enough that the outermost ethereal layers of the suns possess a certain amount of heat of their own, as a result of chemical processes.  The heart of any sun is a most marvelous alchemical laboratory in which occur molecular, atomic, and electronic changes which it would be utterly impossible to reproduce in any of our chemical workshops.  The interiors of the suns are not superheated imaginary furnaces, chemical or alchemical or otherwise, and the future will see intuitions of the great truth dawning upon the minds of our scientists.

Every sun is the outward vehicle of an indwelling spiritual and intellectual presence – the solar logos – having its sublime dwelling place in the hidden recesses of the solar chain.  Our sun is a cosmic atom and, just as every atom on the infinitesimal scale, it is ensouled by its own spiritual-intellectual ‘life-atom’, at the core of which there resides a divine monad of stellar origin and character.

The sun is a heart, a beating heart; in another sense, it is a brain….  The real head and the real heart, coalescing and working as one, are the divinity behind and above and within the physical vehicle of our glorious daystar… Thus, our sun contains and expresses the solar manas, its brain, and also the solar buddhi-prana, its heart; and just as in man’s physical body heart and brain work in coordination, although through two distinct organs, so in the sun do heart and brain work coordinately but in a union of these two functions of the solar monad.

The Megillah makes clear that the Creative Trinity is well-symbolized by a triangle where the Top Point – the ‘Crown Point of Yah’ – represents Sat (gender neutral Being/Existence)–  and the two base points represent Divine Mind (Chit) and Divine Heart (Ananda). Although we typically consider that the top point of the triangle (Crown Point Yah) to be the Soul, it is equally true that the other two points of the Triangle (Mind and Heart) are considered to be attributes of Yah, not separate from Yah. We are each created in the Image and Likeness of THAT Holy Trinity. 

I previously promised that before this article concluded we would once again visit the Nasarean Emerald Tablet Scrolls. I have the purrrfect excerpt for this point in our discussion of the Sun, the Mind, and the Heart; this is from the second of the four Nasarean Emerald Tablet Scrolls. In Axiom Thirty below, the speaker is Abraham, our Solar Regent, in the form of a Golden Dragon. We will follow that axion with Wizard Hermon’s commentary on it.

334. While our share of the Divine Mind pays attention to the Sun and other stars and exchanges information with them, our share of Divine Heart has a loving relationship with our Sun and other stars.
335. Thus we commune with the Sun and other stars with both Head and Heart!

Hermon’s Commentary on Axiom Thirty

336. We also perform each act of Intentional White Magic with both Divine Head and Divine Heart united as One in Yah!
337. The Sun itself does likewise, wherefore we illustrate it as having two wings.
338. The Head without the Heart is like a bird with but one wing.
339. With those two wings – Divine Mind and Divine Heart – we each can fly like the Sun!

341. Each of us – each soul – is a Spiritual Star that will ascend just as high as our two wings – Divine Mind and Divine Heart – take us.
342. Green Wizards of White Magic affirm that truth with our formal Words of Farewell: ‘The Star within me sees the Star within you burning Wisely in Compassion!’

So, Green Wizards of White Magic – and those that aspire to that level of initiation – did you notice that in verse 342 above you are given the official ‘Words of Farewell’ that we speak to one another upon parting?

Now, back to Purucker:

In the distant aeons of the future, we shall lose the physical body that we now possess; we shall then have egg-shaped or globe-shaped bodies of glowing light, in which will abide both heart and mind of the entity, each separate and yet both coalescing in operation as one.  We shall be highly intelligent entities, far more so than now – far more intellectual and far more spiritual….

As the heart and brain of its entire system, the sun sends a twelve-faceted life into every atom of its own solar universe of which we form an integral part.  The sun is pre-eminently a giver of life….

The solar system, from one standpoint, can truly be looked upon as a vital-mechanical organic entity, functioning in its physical and astral aspects as a mechanism, but a mechanism which is, nevertheless, ensouled by spiritual beings greatly varying in evolutionary degree.

Every sun is a living entity, and it derives from within itself its streams of energy, which it is so unceasingly pouring into space through billions…of years…. The vitality, the intellectual power, together with the spiritual energy that the sun ceaselessly emanates, are all derived from the god which is its heart….

Deduction: could we trace the reach of the energies flowing forth from the sun and extending to the outermost bounds of its kingdom, and could we do this by rising to a higher plane, we would see the ‘empty space’ of our solar system as one vast substantial body.  And could we glimpse this apparently substantial energy through a telescope, from some distant planet circling round some distant star, we would see it as an ‘irresolvable nebula’.  This would be simply the flood of energy, of life, of vitality, of substance pouring forth through the circulations of the cosmos – the pathways which all entities follow in passing from planet to planet, and from planet to sun, and from sun on their returning journey to planet: a circulation truly of the life blood or life essence of the solar system….

Although I still have a bit more from Purucker to share, I will first share several excerpts that are right for this moment. The first is from one of the older books in my personal library. Written in 1884, it is titled Magic, White and Black. The author – Franz Hartmann – was into White magic and warned people against Black Magic. The following brief excerpt fits purrrfectly with the last sentence from Purucker above, and makes clear that the main ingredient of this ‘life energy’ from the sun is LOVE. Hartmann (purrrfect name ☺ I’d say!) writes:

Life may be transferred from one form upon another, and the power by which it may be transferred is the power of Love…. Thus the sun is continually transferring his life… and his love to this globe…. There is no actual loss, but merely a setting in motion of vibrations of life and light in the body of our planet by the central will-fire at the center of our system, the sun….

In the allegorical books of the Alchemist, the Sun represents Love; he is the ‘heart’ of our solar system….

Far, in the unfathomable…space… resplendent in its own glory, is the Shining One, whose palpitating Center is Invisible Fire, whose rays are Light and Life…. Their [Day: the rays] harmonious vibrations are undulating through space, filling all animate and inanimate beings with the substance of Love…. Penetrating deep into the hearts of men, they kindle the divine fire in whose light man may see the image of the Shining One, and know it to be himself….

In this universal principle [Day: Love in Rays of Light] is the source of all Power. In it also is magic power contained, even to the extent of creating new worlds and to call a new universe of forms into existence. It is the only Philosopher’s Stone and Elixir of Life….

We do not have far to go in search of that Center, it exists within the heart of each human being; for the soul of each human being is an exact image of the soul of the universe… as the great Spiritual Sun exists in the center of the universe… likewise the image of that sun exists within the heart of each human being. If we only permit this divine light to shine within our own soul, we will know the truth, for… the one existing within our own heart is identical with the one existing within the center of the universe.

If we desire to see the pure light of the terrestrial sun, the atmosphere must not be obscured by clouds…; if we desire to see the eternal light of the spiritual Sun existing within the heart, the realm of the soul must not be clouded by material desires…. 

The next two excerpts are from a Christian mystic of the early 1900’s who wrote under the name ‘White Eagle’. The first excerpt is from his book, The Quiet Mind:

The… Golden One, the Source of all life, will not fail to raise you up if you will allow yourselves to be raised….  Throw off the chains of this earthly darkness and see yourself as you truly are, a son-daughter of the blazing, golden Light of the sun.

However difficult your pathway is, my child, daily seek the glory of the God-life.  Soar, in your higher mind, … rise into the glorious Light of the Spiritual Sun and know that this Light is the recreative force which will flow through you, causing every ill to fade out of your body, and crooked places to be made straight.

You are a bearer of the Light…. Take this Light out into the world to bless and to heal, and quicken the vibrations of the whole earth.

Now be happy, be filled with joy and look forward into the Light.  Live and move in that golden eternal Light and know that nothing can hurt you.  The only reality is the Light, is God, is Love.

In another book titled The Way of the Sun, the same author, White Eagle, writes: 

Let us consider the meaning of the sun.  The sun gives to you life and warmth, but it also gives to you spirit—so said the Ancient Wisdom.  For the ancient belief is that behind the physical sun which you see in the heavens is the spiritual radiation, the spiritual life-force which feeds and sustains all life on earth.

It is this spiritual counterpart of the sunshine we in the spirit world worship as the Cosmic Christ.  But the Cosmic Christ is not only a radiation, a power unseen and too often unfelt [by materialistic man]…. We do not say that the whole radiation of the spiritual emanation from the Sun can be confined to one human form; we say that it can manifest in great power through a perfectly beautiful human form.

Is not this comforting to learn, that God… caused this divine Sunlight to take human form, for the Sun… in human form creates a bridge between man and his Creator….  God knows this and that is why these wonderful manifestations such as Jesus Christ, Krishna, the Buddha – all of the Sun spirit, come to humanity.

We would like you to conceive the perfect human form of the Cosmic Christ, or Christ the Lord…. It is for you to seek this divine Presence, to become attuned to it, to become at one with it; and then you will know that you too are all truly brethren, all of the same spirit. We have tried… to open your consciousness to this beloved and tender form… through whom pours the splendor of the spiritual Sun upon you, loving and knowing and uplifting you always….

You must understand that the source of all physical health, happiness and harmony is the one great Light…. You come from the Sun, the source of light and happiness for all humanity, love; and to the Sun you all return, but in full consciousness of the powers which your Father-Mother God gave you at your birth from the great Heart, the cosmic Heart, the center of love, wisdom and power.

The message of Jesus, the Christ, is the message of eternal life.  Understand that life itself is the Sun in you, and the Sun in the Christ spirit; and that Christ spirit is divine love, which is ever creative, ever bringing light out of darkness.

The greatest work you can do on your earth is to turn your faces to the light, to live for the light and to help all men towards this realization of light.  You are not born to live in darkness and unhappiness and hardship.  You are born so that you may develop the powers of the Sun in your soul; and unless man is doing this, he is not making use of his life as God intended.

White Eagle continues with a description of a Solar Christ Festival that is celebrated in the heavens and explains how we can celebrate it on earth:

At the full moon when the sun is in the sign of Gemini there is a great festival in the heavens, the Christ festival, when there is an exceptional spiritual outpouring upon the earth and into the hearts of men from the Christ Sun.  The ceremony takes place on the plane of what we call the white ether.  The white ether is the level of consciousness where all souls can hold communion with the Son of God, the Cosmic Christ.  It is the plane of the Cosmic Christ. At this level the great Christ festival takes place, and those who are functioning always at the Christ level look to their brothers in the flesh to be channels through whom they can pour the light and love of the Christ Sun on to earth’s humanity.

And so, at the time of the full moon in June and near the summer solstice, give yourself time to withdraw, mentally, from the cares and attractions of the physical life and, in spirit, join the company of those assembled high in the etheric peaks of life, on that plane of the white ether.  Be very still in mind and body, try to feel that point of light in your heart which is of the Sun, and receive into your heart the glorious outpouring from the heart of the Sun… and become an instrument to radiate light and love to all mankind.

Center your thoughts and your feelings upon the symbol of the Christ love, the sweet rose.  Contemplate its fragrance and the beauty of its form and imagine that your heart is a rose and that its fragrance [Christ love] permeates your being….

Brethren, the greatest work is done through love, only love. You can all feel the beauty of spiritual love.  Human love is very sweet, it is very dear to the human heart; but as it widens, as it rises on to the plane of spirit, it widens and becomes universal.  There is nothing sweeter or more powerful than love. Love may find expression in material gifts and in acts of service… love never loses its power to create good.  The more you can feel love, the one towards the other, and give forth love into the world, the more you are raising the whole vibration of the earth.

You know your life is transformed when you are able to maintain a feeling of love.  It is true that love is the savior of mankind… love, the savior of the world.  Therefore, let us continue to love and to be lovely in the sight of our Father-Mother God.

June is the month of roses, the symbol of love.  The symbol of our Master is the rose; the rose which pours forth perfume, which inspires everyone with happiness and joy and love.  It is the month of the Lord Christ, the Son of God. May love bloom like the rose in the garden of the temple of your heart.

If you go back and look at where I paused the Purucker excerpt, I think you will agree that the above several excerpts were purrrfect for the moment! Or you can just take my word for it and jump write into the following last excerpt from Purucker! ☺ 

The eleven-year sunspot cycle affects each of the planets of the solar family through their north and south poles.  The magnetism which reaches us from the sun – physical, astral, as well as mental – enters the earth through the north pole; it then follows certain circulations within and around the earth and leaves it at the other pole.  All these magnetic circulations pass around the equator a certain number of times, whether they be brief or of longer duration. The earth follows very closely the breathing of the sun, very closely indeed, because the entire solar system is an animate organism of which the planets are the organs….

The heart of Father Sun is a ray of the Absolute…. This solar divinity is the spiritual and intellectual parent of all the numberless hosts of entities throughout the solar system.  From it we came in the far, far past; and to it we shall return in the far distant future, when the evolutionary course of our solar system shall approach its term….

“Sons of the Sun” – a literal truth! For as every human being in the core of his essence is a sun, destined in future aeons to become one of the stellar hosts besprinkling the spaces of Space, so even from the very first instant when the… spiritual monad begins its peregrinations [Day: ‘journeys’] throughout universal Being, it is already a sun in embryo….

Every one of us is a child of the sun; from it we issued forth in the far distant aeons of the past, and to it we shall return in the far distant aeons of the future….

Through initiation, if a man passes successfully the tests, his spirit will wing its way from earth through moon and planets to the portals of the sun, penetrate to the heart, then deeper still into the invisible realms and regions, and return finally to his entranced body, waiting for him, and kept alive by the sublime magic of the Hierarchy of Wisdom and Compassion.

That sounds like what happened to me when I experienced what the Megillah calls ‘The Mahazeh Gedolah’. But that’s a story for another moment. In this current moment, I have another of my ‘Amazing, Magical, Synchronistic, Drawn-To-Just-The-Right-Book’ stories to tell! ☺ I will start by telling the ‘back-story’.

I led into the long excerpt from G. de Purucker’s book by telling you the following story (this reminder of how I came to share the Purucker book with you will lead into my new equally amazing story about the next book I will share with you):

Last night, having completed the paragraph (the excerpt) directly above, I ended writing for the night. After some yoga, I entered the largest room of my rather vast personal library. Prior to beginning Chapter One, I had pulled out all of the books that I knew had good information related to the Sun that I might want to use and placed them in a separate area, not in this particular room. Last night, as I stood in my library, I had a strong intuition that there was a book on one of these shelves (not in the room where I was keeping the books with good Sun info) that had a very ‘juicy’ section on the Sun that would be purrrfect for this point of this article. I KNEW that was true and KNEW I would be drawn to it. I centered myself as near to the Still Zero as a human can get without slipping out of physical embodiment – we call that state ‘One Touching Zero’ – and I felt called to walk to a particular book case and my hand reached out and grabbed a particular book, and without yet knowing the title I KNEW it was the one that I was meant to find. I opened it randomly… and, of course (this happens to me all the time) it was information about the Sun and is purrrfect for this point in the chapter. 

When I go to used bookstores, I often buy fifteen or twenty books and, when I get home, put them on a shelf in my library knowing that, someday, I will have a chance to look each one over. That’s what had happened with this book – written in 1974 – when I purchased it a couple of years back. I knew that the author, G. de Purucker, was an excellent esoteric scholar since I owned another book by him. So, I had bought the book without looking it over, trusting that it would be worth having. And never opened it until last night… and opened randomly to a section on the Sun that I will now share with you.

After I told you the above story about how the Purucker book came to me at just the right moment to include it in just the right place in this Sun Yoga article, I then shared a lot of rather illuminating solar excerpts from it with you. And that leads to the new amazing – and mysteriously similar – story of how I came upon the next book that I am going to excerpt from, The Mystery of the Light Within Us.

The story I just re-shared about how I came upon the Purucker book began with the words “Last night”. Well, that “Last night” was now three nights ago. It took me three days to write from that point in this chapter to this point. Now, last night – a new “last night” – after having just completed typing the last portion of the Purucker excerpt,I went to do some yoga before bed. I was doing the yoga in one of the several rooms that house my personal library of ‘thousands’ of spiritual books. I felt called to do the yoga in a different library room than I normally do it. And, as some of you may already be predicting, THE SAME SORT OF EXPERIENCE THAT I HAD WITH THE PURUCKER BOOK HAPPENED ONCE AGAIN! I will share that magical experience.

In sharing my story about the Purucker book, I mentioned that I had previously already pulled-out all of the books that I knew had good sun references that I intended to excerpt from for this book on Sun Yoga. But now I will give you some extra details. I began that process of setting aside books with good sun references five years before beginning this book. That is because I knew that I would in the future write a ‘Solar Illuminations’ book. So, over that five-year period, each time I happened to come across a book in my library with a good section on the sun, I set it on one particular shelf that I designated for that purpose. Over the past five years, that shelf became home to a lot of books to be considered whenever I got around to writing the Sun book. So, the odds against me suddenly finding several more while right in the midst of writing this book – and in such mysterious, magical fashion – is, well… MAGICAL! ☺

This time (last night), I had an intuitive knowingness that there was another book in my library that wanted to be considered for the Sun Yoga book. That was the actual feeling that I strongly felt: the book itself was reaching out to me! So, let me share what had to that point been my very limited relationship to that book.

In the early 1990’s, I received a phone call from England from a man named John. He explained that he was a member of an esoteric spiritual study group called The Order of the Cross that had been founded by a mystical writer named J. Todd Ferrier in the early 1900’s and was close to becoming extinct. He said that the current group in England was down to a small number of elderly persons and that they had a large inventory of Ferrier’s many books that had never been sold and were still in their original boxes stored in a warehouse since they were printed decades ago. Realizing that their group may or may not continue to exist – sure, they hoped to get some young members but it had not happened yet and most of them were over seventy – they decided to gift boxes of books to spiritually oriented vegetarian groups that might appreciate them. He said that my (Day) Essene Church was one of those groups.

This elderly man, John, was in his eighties, and he explained that Ferrier never had access to the sort of Essene scriptures that the modern Essene Church was blessed to have, but that there were a number of similarities in their teachings and the Essenes, the main one being that Ferrier taught that Christ was a vegetarian and that Paul altered that doctrine and other aspects of original Christianity. John said that he was coming to America to personally delivery boxes of these long-warehoused Ferrier books and would like to include me on his route. I agreed.

Once having received what turned out to be several big boxes of books from John, I began looking through them. Each one of the dozen-or-so that I opened and looked at was simply Ferrier commenting on excerpts from the mainstream Bible. He would quote a passage from, say, the Old Testament Book of Ezekial, then give a ‘New Age’ interpretation of those verses. Well, though I respected that, it was not really ‘my cup of tea’ in that I had long moved on from the mainstream Bible and embraced the Essene scriptures that were, to be blunt, much more spiritually advanced. I had no need or interest in books that were giving a ‘higher’, ‘New Age’ interpretation to the mainstream Bible because I had something better.

So, I went to the next weekly Essene Church service that I put on in the town where I lived at the time, and I placed the several boxes of Ferrier books on the floor and invited the members of the congregation to each take as many as they wanted and they began to do that. Looking at the books on the floor I saw one with a title that attracted me: The Mystery of The Light Within Us. Feeling that I should keep one of the books as a sort of ‘communion’ with the sweet gift from these old folks, I picked that book up just based on the title. I took it home, put in on one of the shelves of my budding wizardly library… and never opened it up until LAST NIGHT.

When I say that last night I felt that the book itself was calling to me, I mean that quite literally! Just think: That book had been printed in 1967 (it was first published in 1932 but this printing had been in 1967) and had been in a box in a warehouse until the mid-1990’s, then ended up in my library unlooked at for another twenty-five years. And it knew that it had a wonderful excerpt about the Sun that I would love to use in my future Sun Yoga book if only I knew about it… and communicated to me: ‘I have waited all these decades for this moment: Open me, read my Sun excerpt, AND THEN SHARE THESE WORDS WITH YOUR FRIENDS.’ And that, my friends, is exactly what I now shall do! ☺ Oh, and yes, the excerpt is quite lengthy! ☺

First, though, an admission: I don’t really know that a book is capable of feelings or thoughts, but it felt that way. I suppose it could have been the Spirit of the author… or my own amazing psychic powers! ☺ (It’s usually the latter, but this time it honestly felt like the book itself called to me.)

In The Mystery of the Light Within Us, J. Todd Ferrier writes:

The Human Soul, having kinship with the Unseen Universe of Being, shares the elements out of which all things become manifest. For the nature and constitution of the Human Soul are one with the elemental states and constitution of the Stars.  All have proceeded from the same Source; and though the procession of each Star and each Soul differs according to the degree of manifestation and order of ministry, yet the purpose behind each and all is the same.  It is to embody and interpret the most Sacred Mystery.

As the Light given forth by the Stars is inherent in their elements, so is the Auric display inherent in the elements of which the Soul is built up.  They have in common their origin in and from the Divine Aetheria.  It is the Divine Aetheria which gives the resplendence to that portion of the Heavens we speak of as The Milky Way; for the Divine Aetheria has within itself the properties of Life and Light, and is a container of the universal consciousness, and is, therefore; the reflector of the Eternal Mystery we name Omniscience, and which we postulate of the Father-Mother.

A quick comment and then we will continue the excerpt. Ferrier coined the above word Aetheria to refer to a subtle, ethereal realm populated by Beings of Light that directly interfaces with our slightly denser realm. Ferrier continues:

The process of the Creation and generation of a Human Soul is the same as that of a Star.  The Soul is in this respect a miniature of the greater creation.  They have this in common, that both are built up out of the Divine Aetheric Elements, and both are fashioned like a Spiral.

Now, imagine my reaction when I felt called to open this book to a certain page – this page (most the book is not about the Sun) – and found not only was it related to the heavenly aspects of the Sun and stars but also continues to drive home our theme of the universal significance of the Sacred Spiral! Magical! ☺ Ferrier continues:

The way of the fashioning of the Human Soul is through the motion of the Divine Breaths amidst the Elements composing the Divine Aetheria.  It is built up out of those Sacred Elements which contain within themselves the potency of Life and Light, and that are of the Divine Mystery of universal consciousness and related to Omniscience.

From its inception the Human Soul has within itself the Principle of Life-Eternal and the potency of the Eternal Light.  In its Spiral are the two mysterious magnetic Streams whose alternating action build the Life-forces and enrich the attributes by means of a process of gathering from the Divine elemental Kingdom; for these have Systolic and Diastolic action.  They proceed from and return to the Divine Centre. 

Ferrier, being English, spells the word ‘center’ differently than we Americans: centre. He also just used two words that we should define, since more than half of you likely don’t know their meaning. SYSTOLIC means the rhythmic contraction of the heart. DIASTOLIC means the rhythmic expansion of the heart. He continues:

As the Soul grows, its consciousness expands and deepens; then, periodically, that brings about an ascension of Life, enabling the Soul to function upon higher planes and more inward realms.  And thus does it continue to grow and ascend until it can be magnetically and dynamically lifted up as high as the Angelic World of its own system; then into Celestial realms; and ages after, on to the threshold of the Divine Kingdom. 

As it grows, the Light within it becomes more and more intense.  And as the Light falls upon its magnetic plane, its auric resplendence becomes manifest.  The Light within it is the resultant of the polarization of all its Aetheria [Day: etheric substance]; and the degree of intensity of the Light is commensurate with the magnetic status it has attained to.  The Auric Light is its true nimbus; but it is not simply a single circle of light around the head, such as the great spiritual artists put around the head of the Madonna and the saints.  It is a wonderful compound globular Light which gradually changes from white Light to first one and then another of the colors of the rainbow, and finally to reveal all of them: for they are all contained in it, even as the spectrum is contained in the primal ray. 

The word ‘nimbus’ used in the above paragraph means ‘halo’. As I myself have pointed out in previous writings, though artists symbolize the ‘nimbus’ or ‘halo’ with a circle of light around the head of a holy being, that spiritual light is not confined to just that one spot; it surrounds the entire body. The Megillah refers to this as the ‘Ovum of Light’ or ‘Auric Egg’. Though we all have one, the more spiritually developed we become, the more powerful is our nimbus or ‘Ovum of Light’. Ferrier continues:

Then according to the age of the Soul, the Spectrum becomes less or more intense in its manifestation.  For the age and estate of a Soul may be known through its Aura.  But the age of a Soul is not determined by the ages through which it has persisted and manifested; otherwise, all Souls of the same number of cycles would have Auras of equal degree and intensity. 
Age in the Divine Sense represents the quality and quantity of the Soul’s ingathering of potency, and its attainments. For, through drawing into itself during the magnetic action resulting from… Purpose and Love, … it grows in stature and grace; and through these it becomes so deeply affected that it not only essays [Day: ‘desires’] to attain spiritual heights of consciousness and power, but it actually achieves the summits of the Hills of God in its Initiations.  As these…  are Angelic Degrees, in this way it passes upward in estate from Kingdom to Kingdom and becomes as a brilliant Star in the firmament of its own Sphere.

The magical synchronicity of this excerpt with the material we have previously studied continues to unfold: As does the Megillah and Purucker (and others) that we have previously excerpted, we see above that Ferrier also affirms that, at a certain point of spiritual evolution, a soul can become a star! Since not a whole lot of books contain that information, the fact that books with that information keep ‘falling into my hands’ is nothing short of amazing! ☺

Back to Ferrier:

Henceforth, it is ensphered [Day: ‘circled’ in a sphere] in the Cloud of its Radiance.  Its Aura is now as the true Chromosphere of the Sun and the Stars.  It shares with them the revelation of the Glory of the Elohim….

Ferrier, not having access to the Megillah, is using the term Elohim not just to refer to the Lord Christ and Lady Christ (as in the Megillah) but to all ‘Demi-God-Like’ highly evolved souls, the sort of souls that get assigned big jobs like being the Brahma of a star or galaxy. The word Elohim literally means Gods since ‘El’ means ‘God’ and the ‘im’ at the end is a plural ending like putting an English ‘s’ at the end of a word. The Nasareans are unique in the use of the word ‘Elohim’ as a specific one-word designation to refer to the Lord Christ and Lady Christ at the same time. Back to the excerpt:

So much akin to the Solar World is the Human Soul, that its Aura not only contains all the elements of the Spectrum as seen in the refracted ray of Light, but it contains likewise those mysterious invisible rays of which scientists speak concerning the Solar Ray.  In the possession and exercise of this power, the Soul’s kinship with the Solar World is made manifest; for the Sun has many unseen rays which contain secret power for the generative and transmutory ministries.  Some of these have been discovered by the apostles of physical science, and put to medical and healing uses. But the true secret hidden in those unseen rays is not known…. For the secret associated with the realm of the Spirit whose intelligent motion produces the flower, belongs to the Eternal Mystery we name the Father-Mother….

This excerpt from The Mystery of the Light Within Us again aligns itself with one of our ongoing themes: that there is revelatory information hidden (‘encoded’) in the subtle rays of the sun. Recall that Savoy and I use the acronym I.F. (Information Factors) for this encoded information in sunlight.

Ferrier, writing in the very patriarchal era of the early 1900’s, also deserves acknowledgement for his use above of the term ‘Father-Mother’ for Deity.

The Ferrier excerpt continues:

Such is the Mystery of the Light Within.  Such is the share which the Human Soul has in the Mystery of the Stars, the Gods, and the Law of Being.  And in such wise [Day: such ‘manner’] may the Eternal Light be revealed in and through the Human Soul….

The glorious Sun is little understood….  The first seven innermost circles represent the Planes and Kingdoms of the Divine World.  Through these the innermost Divine centre directly ministers to the cosmic whole. And it is through these Kingdoms and Planes that the Solar Body as the compound representative and therefore, Vicegerent of ADONAI, ministers to the Sons of God within his system.  Indeed, it is through the Divine approach by means of these Kingdoms and Planes that the more advanced of the Sons of God who minister upon the Earth, are nourished, upheld and directed.  And it is also through those Kingdoms and Planes that the Central Authority of the Universe of the System to which the Sun belongs, communicated the Divine Purpose…. 

The many correlations with our previously shared excerpts from various sources continued above. The reference to ‘the seven circles’ that represent ‘seven Planes or Kingdoms’ correlates with our previous excerpts on ‘the Seven Heavens’ that correspond with ‘the Seven Chakras’ within the Sun and within each of us. The reference to ‘the innermost Divine centre’ that ‘directly ministers to the cosmic whole’ relates to the many previous excerpts that affirmed a Spiritual Center at the heart of the Sun, that center being linked not only to our own crown chakra and heart chakra but also to all of the Cosmic and Spiritual Centers of the Higher Heavens of our Milky Way Galaxy and beyond to the Ultimate Center of Deity. The term ‘Vicegerent of ADONAI’ that ‘ministers to the Sons of God within his system’ correlates well with the similar term ‘Solar Regent’ used in the Megillah. In case you don’t know, the word capped by Ferrier – ADONAI – means ‘LORD’. 

More from Ferrier:

By means of this Plane the Seer looks into the Divine World, and through it he receives communication….  

Beyond this magnetic circulus there are seven more Kingdoms and their Planes.  These circuli represent the Celestial Realm within the Sun.  They also are interfused with the sacred Tinctures of the Elohim; for the Elohim operate through them, rendering Celestial Solar ministries, and also receiving such from the Sun’s central authority – its own Divine World, as well as from the various members of its Celestial System….  As it is held in state from the Divine World through its corresponding Divine Center and Magnetic Poles, so is its relationship to the Celestial divinities upheld, and its power to render Celestial Service continued.   Those who are in the estate of Celestial Christhood derive their illumination within the various Kingdoms through the operation of the Elohim….

The Megillah also teaches that there are Christed Beings other than the Lord Christ and the Lady Christ, but that all of those Christed Beings acknowledge that the Lord and Lady are the Supreme Christs. We continue the excerpt:

This Solar Celestial Realm is a projection from the Divine Centre for purposes of manifestation and ministry.  It is inherently present always in the Solar constitution but is not always obviously manifest.  It acts likewise as a Defense to the Divine Kingdom, for no one can reach the latter except through the former.  Thus, no one who has not entered the Divine Kingdom by means of the Divine Initiations and through the observance of its most sacred Ritual, can approach that Kingdom by any other way than the path of the Celestial Realm.  For the Soul can approach and enter the Divine Kingdom only when it has accomplished all its degrees upon the Celestial Realm.  Here it may also be observed that the various Tinctures of the Elohim are transmitted into the Solar Celestial Realms….

When Ferrier uses the capitalized word ‘Tincture’, he is not referring to the sort of medicinal herbal product that we are familiar with. Rather, the basic dictionary definition of the word ‘tincture’ is a ‘trace of color or fragrance’, and Ferrier is capping it and giving it the special meaning of the particular spiritual alchemy involved in the personal ministry of highly evolved Beings in service to Christ. He often uses the word ‘Tincture’ to describe the different essence of each of the colors of the spectrum, affirming that while they all work together, they each have a unique alchemical purpose, a unique ‘spiritual flavor’. We continue:

Beyond the Celestial World of the Sun there is another of its Aetheric Heavens which again looks like empty space like the wide circulus that divides the Celestial from the Divine World.  This second circulus is the sphere through which the Celestial ministrants communicate with the Angelic World.  It is the Celestial Magnetic Plane.

Souls who are able to transcend all Earth influences and rise into the higher Angelic World, have messages sent to them upon that Plane.  Thus it is with those who are on their way to become Seers and Prophets of the Divine Kingdom.  They receive instruction through that Plane to enrich, illumine, and strengthen them for ministry.  As they rise in state, so does the communication to meet their growing need.  In this way Souls acquire the potencies represented by all the Celestial Kingdoms and Planes, and attain to the estate of Celestials.

Not only do evolving human initiates receive communication from the Star we call our Sun, but also from other Heavenly Stars and, once we graduate one level of the Cosmic School System, we will then receive higher level ‘curiculuum’ – Divine Communications – from ever more transcendent planes. The Spiral Ladder of Spiritual Evolution does not end even when we graduate from the angelic realms linked with our current solar system. Ferrier continues: 

Outside the Celestial Magnetic Plane, we have what seems to be another repetition of the Spectrum shown in the Divine and Celestial Kingdoms.  Again, there are seven circles, each taking the color of one of the Seven Sacred Tinctures….  It was originally the Solar Angelic World from which the Hosts of the Lord of Life ministered.  It formed the true Chromosphere and Photosphere of the System of the glorious Divine Being who is in charge of the Sun…. In those days, the Angelic World was very near and was most real to the Sons of God and even to the elder children of the Planet.  The Angelic Heavens of the Earth were pure and equipoised, and responsive to the attraction of the Divine World; and this enabled the Angels to give continual ministry, and for an unfailing communion to be kept up between the Earth and Sun.  Then was the Earth a glorious body also in the System.  It was clothed in its own magnetic Light: as its Poles were affected from the Solar World.  For the mysterious elements out of which Light becomes manifested in the Solar Body and all Stars, are also in the Earth, and perfectly fulfilled their office in the fallen days.

The above passage is describing the perfection that existed between Sun and Earth before the ‘fall’ of humankind that spread to, and tainted, the natural world. In The Holy Megillah, we read of that pristine, ‘Edenic’ period before the fall:

1. Now, when the Tree of Life was planted in the center of the Garden, Adam and Eve were awakened from sleep.
2. Behold, the bodies of Adam and Eve were not like our flesh; they were of a flesh that need not die.
3. Lo: their flesh radiated the gleam of light.
4. And the Garden was beautiful!
5. It was a place of delight!
6. The colors of the soil, plants, flowers, and sky were vivid and radiant!
7. The scent of the Garden was sweet!
8. And the animals were friendly and harmed not each other, nor ate each other, nor did they harm Adam and Eve.
9. Even so, the animals were of mortal flesh; for animals are souls who have not yet attained immortal bodies, and mankind was to be their guide and example.
10. But even the mortal flesh of the animals gleamed and was of a different nature than today, being lighter and sparkling with innocence.
11. And the water was clear and sweet!
12. Yea, and the sounds of the Garden were joyful and happy!

We return to Ferrier:

Through the sad fall of the Earth…. It became necessary for the Divine World to make great changes in the outer Kingdoms of the Sun’s constitution.  The Divine World purposed to make a tremendous sacrifice to save this Planet and all her children.  It revealed a majestic stooping of the Divine Love and Wisdom to give effectual ministry to the Earth.  The sacrifice was contained in changing the elements which composed the Chromosphere and Photosphere, and reducing them from their primal state to one that was greatly denser….  The Angels had to be withdrawn to the lower Celestial plane, and many elements to be indrawn from the Angelic to the Celestial Realms….  Thus, it became a vehicle for the operations of the Divine World on behalf of the Earth.  And it is so unto this day….

The Megillah makes clear that prior to the fall referred to by Ferrier, our Planet was the First Heaven of a chain of Seven that culminated with the Sun. Due to the increased density on Earth linked to the fall in spiritual consciousness – which the Megillah links to the killing and eating of animals – Earth fell out of the heavenly hierarchy and became a contested world. At that time, another spiritual realm in this solar system – Elkush – became the First Heaven of the chain of seven that culminates with the Sun. You can’t see these realms because they exist in a spiritual dimension just as we have said of the one within the Sun. Ferrier continues:

Through this ministry the Angels of the outer Spheres are now able to encompass the Earth.  They are the Hosts of the Lord proclaiming the Avatar.  It is also now possible for the Presence of the Eternal One to overshadow the Sons of God and for the Divine World to directly affect them.  With the accomplishment of the Redemption of the Planetary Heavens… the Angels are now able to approach those Heavens and minister unto the many.  And the Earth herself can be ministered unto more directly and with fuller and intenser magnetic streams poured forth from the Divine World through the latter’s Celestial Spheres. 

Above, Ferrier is describing the positive result of the heavenly, angelic response to the fall of Earth from the heavenly hierarchy. Below, he is about to reinforce the point that several of our sources – including, of course, the Megillah – have affirmed: that within the core of the Sun is a spiritual realm that, being in a spiritual dimension, is not burning hot and is populated by highly evolved Beings. 

The interior of the Solar Body is entirely different from that guessed at by Physical Science.  A voyage in the interior of the Sun would be most remunerative to Science.  If the Mind, as a sacred Argosy, could sail the etheric sea from Earth to the glorious Orb, it would truly be a voyage of great discovery.  The inner Sphere would reveal the most wonderful superstructure. It would be found that though the Sun appears to the human eye as globular, yet in the inner spheres it was like a tremendous spiral containing seven great Planes and seven Kingdoms; that the Planes had dual motion upward and downward upon the Spiral, and outward and inward from the Spiral, as they rendered creative ministries; and that the Kingdoms designated the field of action where the creative ministries were rendered, and the degree of realized Life and Power by those who dwelt and served in them.

The Divine Mystery contained in the Sun’s Fashion has had to be guarded from all who have not attained to that degree of Divine Life which would enable them to rise into the Solar Cosmic consciousness, and become citizens of the glorious Celestial World, able to dwell and serve within its Kingdoms, if so commanded from the Divine World…. 

Ferrier, describing the inward-outward spiral motions within the Sun – and within all of nature – is about to use two words that were also often used by our previously excerpted Walter Russell in his various books: centripetal and centrifugal:

‘The Return Force’ and ‘The Projecting Force’ set forth, whilst still veiling the mystery, the inward and upward motion of the planes, and their downward and outward motion.  They are centripetal and centrifugal.  The latter speaks of the projection of Divine Potency, and the former indicates the return.  They might be termed the masculine and feminine forces.

In the Megillah, the masculine force is called both Shemesh and Yang, and the feminine force is called both Shemayah and Yin. ‘Shemesh’ is the Hebrew word for ‘Sun’ and ‘Shemayah’ is the Hebrew word for ‘Heavenly Space’. The Chinese words ‘Yang’ and ‘Yin’ made it into the Nasarean Bible because of missionary work performed in China by the great Nasarean Teacher known as ‘Peter Green Man’. 

Ferrier continues: 

The Presence at the Centre represents not only the One who is the Head of the Sun System as Vicegerent of Adonai, but also speaks of the Sum of all the high Beings whose home is in the Sun, and who serve in it for the Elohim.  For, though the glorious Orb has One presiding as the Divine Representative, to whose Divine Counsel all render sweet obedience since it is obedience unto the Will of the Divine World, yet it is a great and resplendent system of Souls in Celestial Estate….  For all who dwell in the Sun’s innermost realm, have known the mystery of El Adonai in the Eternal World….  The meaning here may not be easily apprehended, but it is of immense importance.  For where it is known that there are millions of glorious Beings in the inner Realms of the Solar World, and that together they form its Divine Kingdom and, therefore, represent El Adonai in embodiment, it will be the more readily understood how the united action of such a glorious company upon and through the highly magnetic elements, causes the outer Kingdoms and Planes to be clothed resplendently in magnetic Light.  For the real glory of the Sun is the resultant of their action, producing through the action of the Divine elements, the magnetic radiance….

In the first sentence of the above paragraph, the ‘One who is Head of the Sun System as Vicegerent of Adonai’ is a reference to who in the Megillah we know as Abraham. However, in the Megillah, Abraham is the co-leader – High Priest of the Sun – along with High Priestess Sa’arah. Ferrier is correct that they serve Adonai (the Lord), but in the Megillah it is worded that they serve “the Lord Christ and the Lady Christ”. 

Here is the conclusion of our excerpt from J. Todd Ferrier’s, The Mystery of the Light Within Us.

In this way does the Divine Centre project through the Photosphere the necessary accommodated elements and electric forces for the nourishing of all life upon the Earth, the disintegration of false states, conditions and elements, and the transmutation of many of her elements as forerunner of her complete Redemption and Restoration….  

One of the outstanding gifts bestowed upon Man by the Creator is the inheritance of the same Mystery common to the Sun and all the Stars.  The Divine Macrocosm is repeated in Man.  He is a Divine Microcosm.  All the Kingdoms are in him.  He shares the Spiral, the Balance, and the Planes.  When he accomplishes certain degrees of his growth and evolution, the Gods can speak to him.  He can enter their Spheres.  He can receive from them.  Even the Son of the Highest can approach him. He can attain to enter His Sphere.  He can walk with the Son of God.  He can come to know the Eternal Mystery.  The Glory of the Divine World can be reflected into him.  He can be enshrined of God.  The magnetic streams of the Divine Innermost can cause the Radiance of the Resplendent One to ensphere him….

When you consider how purrrfect the above material from The Mystery of the Light Within Us was for this article – so, ‘right up the alley’ – it only makes my reported plea from the book that I should open it and use it in this book that much more amazing! The book was right! It did have an important contribution to make and, with you now having read that contribution, I feel the book feels very fulfilled! After all, it waited unread since being printed in 1967 and now feels rightfully appreciated! And since this series of articles on Sun Yoga will soon become my ‘Solar Illuminations’ book, these finally-shared words will be read by others over the years, giving the book a form of eternal life and fulfilled purpose. Maybe books are not so different from human beings in their aspirations! ☺

A List Compiled by Day of Practices Given by Yahshua for Essene Sun Yoga

I am going to end Part Two of this three-part series on Sun Yoga by returning to Yahshua’s ‘Lecture on Sun Yoga’. I made the following list of specific practices given by Yahshua for Sun Yoga in that lecture. We have already shared a number of the philosophical and cosmological statements about the Sun made by Yahshua in that lecture – such things as the fact that the Sun has its own seven chakra system – but I am not including those sorts of teachings in this list; this list consists only of specific practices that Yahshua advises for students of Sun Yoga. Of course, Yahshua mentions other good Sun Yoga practices in other places in the Megillah, but here follows those that he mentions in his ‘Lecture on Sun Yoga’ that appears within his Sermon on Essene Yoga.

1. Contemplate the Relationship of Your Physical and Subtle Bodies to the Various Bodies of Our Sun.

In regard to number one above, Yahshua said:

598. “One that would learn to practice Essene Sun Yoga does well to begin by contemplating his or her personal relationship to the various bodies of our Sun including its Spiritual Body….”

2. Dedicate Yourself to Help Bring About the Heliocentric ‘Blessed Future’ Described in the Nasarean Book of Enoch.

In regard to number two above, Yahshua said:

“… in the light of the excerpt from the Book of Enoch, to dedicate oneself to help bring about the heliocentric ‘Blessed Future’ and thus help prevent the dark future is one way to serve YHWH.”

Thus, number two is an example of applying Karma Yoga in the context of Sun Yoga.

3. Apply Jnana Yoga/Wisdom Yoga to Sun Yoga by Studying Everything Written in the Megillah About the Sun.

Yahshua said:

599. “Another good initial practice of Essene Sun Yoga is to apply Jnana Yoga/Wisdom Yoga to it by studying everything written in the Megillah about the Sun.”

Although I am just listing practices from the ‘Lecture on Sun Yoga’ here, the fact is that the majority of that lecture was Yahshua’s explanation of how Nasarean Cosmolgy is the context in which we practice Sun Yoga. Thus, in regard to ‘Practice Number Three’ above, studying Nasarean Cosmology is a central practice of that application of Jnana Yoga (Wisdom Yoga). Yahshua makes that clear in the following verses at the start of his Sun Yoga Lecture:

542. “The various practices related to Essene Sun Yoga are all performed within the context of Nasarean Cosmology, a cosmology that thinks very highly of the Sun.

543. According to Nasarean Cosmology, the Sun is the visible representation of Supernal Light – the Light of YHWH – and is the home of The Seventh Heaven of this chain of worlds.”

You have obviously been performing this Sun Yoga Practice Number Three in the context of Jnana Yoga by reading this book on Essene Sun Yoga. Besides studying what the Megillah says about the Sun, this book also provides spiritual and scholarly excerpts from a wide variety of sources that help illuminate the Megillah’s solar teachings, including some that are so brilliant that you have truly had to exercise your mind to absorb such extremely advanced wisdom. 

4. Perform the Communion with the Root of Sun.

Yahshua said:

624. “Just by reciting, with sincere reverence, the Communion – ‘Words of Union’ (Daberim Ha Yihud) – for the Sun, one is practicing a form of Sun Yoga.
625. It is best to do this outside, in the Sun.
626. Though that Communion is typically spoken on the morning of the fourth day after Sabbath, you can also perform it as an act of Sun Yoga on any other day you like.
627. The following extra-short version of the Sun Communion is one you can try.
628. Facing the Sun, as naked as practical, say these words out loud: ‘Holy Sun, I bathe in your Fire of Life.’
629. Feel free to compose your own words of Solar Communion, and to vary your words from time to time, as you like.
630. I do.”

The longer version of the Communion with the Sun is as follows:

‘Angel of Sun, I will bathe in the Light of your fire! From the base of my spine, to the crown of my head, let the Sun of Righteousness rise with healing in its rays!’

In regard to number four above, after reciting the Communion with the Sun – short version or long version – it is normal to then perform the Contemplation of the Symbol and the Contemplative Concept for the Sun, and to end by performing the Sound of Power for the Sun, a mantra.

The Contemplative Symbol for the Sun given by Yahshua is:

“An Illustration of a Human in Meditation Sitting on Green Grass Beneath the Sun, Flowers of Various Colors Around the Meditator, a Bird in the Sky, nearby a Tree with Ripe Fruits; The Human, Grass, Flowers, Bird and Tree are Each in an Attitude of Gratitude for The Manifold Gifts of The Sun.”

After giving the above Contemplative Symbol for the Sun, Yahshua said: “If you do not have an appropriate illustration at hand, picture it in the eye of your mind.” In Chapter Sixty-Two of Godspell, Yahshua describes all of the Symbols of Contemplation for each of the Branch Forces and Root Forces of the Essene Tree of Life. My book called Sadhana: Essene Spiritual Practices – includes illustrations of each of the Symbols of Contemplation, which is the first time that they have been made available! (Thanks to artist Terese Nielsen for doing the illustrations!)

The Concept for Contemplation of the Sun given byYahshua is:

“The Manifold Blessings of The Sun in Relationship to Human Existence. Since human existence depends also on a sun-blessed, living ecology consisting of various non-human life-forms that are likewise blessed by the Sun, let your contemplation include that awareness.”

The Sound of Power for the Sun given by Yahshua is:

Ahhh-Shahhh.

5. Salutation to the Sun outdoors in the sunlight.

In regard to number five above, most days we perform that Hatha Yoga asana – Salutation to the Sun – inside wherever we typically perform our yoga postures. But in the verses below, Yahshua makes clear that one of his favorite practices of Sun Yoga is to perform the Salutation to the Sun outdoors beneath the sun; Yahshua said:

600. “One of My favorite practices of Essene Sun Yoga is to do the Hatha Yoga asana called Salutation to the Sun outdoors in the sunlight.

601. I love to raise My arms to the Morning Sun in a devotional attitude toward The Seventh Heaven and the Living Light that sustains our Light Body.”

Above is the Three-Step Simple Version of Salutation to the Sun; start with your hands in prayer position, then raise your arms and arch your back, then return to prayer position.

6. Centering With The Sun.

Yahshua describes an Essene Sun Yoga practice called Centering With The Sun as follows:

632. “One more example of Essene Sun Yoga is called Centering With The Sun.
633. Whenever you want to feel more centered, simply center yourself with the Sun by orienting your own crown chakra to the crown chakra of the Sun.
634. This is best done outside beneath the Sun.
635. The Sun is always centered in the ultimate center that is Yah.
636. When you center yourself with the Sun, you simultaneously experience being centered in Yah.”

7. Esoteric Sunbathing, Sometimes Including Meditation.

Yahshua described this seventh Essene Sun Yoga practice as follows. 

604. The Lord said, “In that excerpt from Enoch it was stated that ‘the people were enlightened by the encoded wisdom in the rays of the spiritual Sun, which are hidden within the glorious beams of light from the physical Sun.’
605. In the light of that verse, one can clearly see that an important practice of Essene Sun Yoga is to expose oneself to the ‘glorious beams of light from the physical Sun.’
606. This act of literal union with the Sun by exposure of your skin to its rays feeds you in ways that you know not.
607. Most mornings, Miriam and I follow our Hatha Yoga and Morning Service with a time of sunbathing that We consider a key practice of Sun Yoga.
608. This Daily Sun Bath is typically later in the morning than ‘First Sun’ – ‘First Sun’ being our first exposure to sunlight on a given day no matter how brief – and is of longer duration, though not so long as to cause a burn.

609. “My favorite way to perform Silent Meditation is flat on My back on a blanket beneath the Sun, naked.
610. It is when performing that type of Sun Yoga – Sunbathing Combined With Silent Meditation – that I most notice ‘the encoded wisdom in the rays of the spiritual Sun, which are hidden within the glorious beams of light from the physical Sun’ just referred to in that excerpt from The Nasarean Book of Enoch.
611. When sunny – even in winter sun – I sunbathe naked, provided I can find a place to lay My blanket without shocking other people!”
612. The assembly laughed, and Yahshua continued: “If the weather is freezing, I might skip sunbathing.
613. Not many days per year do I skip at least a bit of sunbathing!
614. On cloudy days, I get what sun I can, sensing the location of the sun behind the clouds, knowing that at least some rays are reaching My skin.
615. Miriam is the same; We are both dedicated Sun Yogis!
616. Yet another reason that We are perfect for one another!”
617. Yahshua and Miriam each smiled, and then Yahshua continued speaking.

This is truly a purrrfect place to end this chapter! One reason that is true is that it is the perfect link to Chapter Three. Although that third chapter will not be confined to the topic of Esoteric Sunbathing, that will be a major focus. Besides a number of good excerpts from the Megillah on that topic – including some very deep teachings on the meditative aspects of sunbathing – I am going to share scientific excerpts that will explain how NOT to get skin cancer from too much sun exposure. Besides the common-sense teaching of not overdoing and burning your skin that is repeated several times in the Megillah – along with the advice to sunbathe in the morning and afternoon when the sun is less intense – I am going to share several scientific excerpts that reveal that skin cancer is much less likely if you eat certain seed oils in your diet.

Chapter Three will also feature the Magdalene’s Solar Teachings, including several Solar Rituals!
